I mostly meant the sophisticated and crowded productions throughout some of The Fame Monster and all of Born This Way. Most speakers choke on them. There was a review of Born This Way early on where they said something like "I don't know if this sounded good on whatever multi-million dollar sound system they produced it on, but my speakers can't handle it." Almost every track on that album comes out like a wall of sound unless you have the right setup.

I agree. I remember Anthagio once tweeted an evaluation of the album's mixing and the scores where around 4s and 5s. GH is a mess during the last chorus.

Honestly though, Government Hooker is probably the production highlight of the album. If you can manage to hear it properly, I think it's more of a wow sharp sonic euphoria achievement than Heavy Metal Lover. It's so brutal, though.

Heavy Metal Lover is still the standout track, though.

I have Sennheisers. IDK if they're that fabulous but even on these a lot of BTW is like a wall of sound.

A really epic wall of sound though.

Ah, I don't know anything about them. I have a pair of HD555s lying around somewhere. My experiences with Sennheiser have been fantastic, but they aren't the electronic music headphones of choice.

Yeah, I got them before I got more into electronic music so I don't have a ton of experience with other headphones, but they're great quality wise for most of what I listen to.

BTW is just a giant wall of sound from any direction you take I think.

There is no song where the difference is more apparent than Government Hooker, but almost every song sounds a mess in low quality or on cheap speakers--other prime culprits include The Edge of Glory, Bloody Mary, Scheisse, and AMERICANO.

That's it. It's too many things to take at the same time. The "Io ritorne's" and the "I can be cool..." lines on top of that thunder-hammering beats.

I'm still in awe as to how Fernando accomplished HML. I honestly thought it was DJWS when I heard it for the first time.

I love "Government Hooker" on my good headphones. And out of those you named, yeah, "Americano" is a bloody terrible mess on low quality speakers of any kind.

"Heavy Metal Lover" remains my favorite sonically though, especially on the right speakers or headphones; the synths throughout that song are just epic.

The only things I've seen her produce since Born This Way are the FAME commercial and "Princess Die"; and we know she's working with DJWS, Fernando, Zedd, and Madeon; and the only thing I've heard is that there is a stoner track on it. I wouldn't be too sure she's headed where everyone thinks.
