I don't agree that Urban singles were the obvious choice during the RR era. The Pop material was stronger for radio than the Hip-Hop material was for Urban radio.

And the same thing that happened to Nicki and is currently happening to Drake is gonna happen again. Urban is gonna spin the top 4 songs from the album at the same time, they're going to get overplayed, and peak before they could properly become singles.
Good for streaming, bad for radio.
