Ok but here's the thing: Teenage Dream had EIGHT singles that sold 2.5m+ copies. It's not far fetched to imagine a large chunk of those 2.5m bought all eight hits. And eight songs is practically an album. Which means there are really 5.5m people out there who have either the full album or enough TD songs to make an album.

Also, its ironic the Kats compare BTW to Teenage Dream when The Fame + Monster is the actual Gaga album that draws the most comparisons.

Promoted multiple years, had a re-release, and had a handful of #1 hits.

The Fame's sales - 4.6 million
The Fame Monster (EP) sales - 1.6 million

The era pulled 6.2 million sales in US, double of Teenage Dream's with similar circumstances. Katy failing to do half just ain't great.
