I played basketball and ran track which automatically put you among the black athletes, but I was in honor classes, cheered, and played softball too so I was constantly with white people as well. I got along with everyone, but of course, as a black person, you aren't allowed to have many white friends or you automatically want to be like that.
PLUS, I stayed in an all white neighborhood, got a brand new car on my 16th birthday, and was perceived as this spoiled, rich bitch.
I hated having my car. ****** stayed asking for rides, but felt like they didn't have to cough up gas money because I "had it". THAT **** DOESN'T MATTER. It's the principle.
