This. I mean, I guess some guys are just doing it because they're constantly told that girls are insecure because of the fact that society wants them to look a certain way and they don't want a girl that they might care about to feel that way. And that's all fine and dandy. But what kills me is when guys think that their opinion is what girls need to have to feel validated to do something and because they told them this they're now the hero of the story.
