I think it's obvious they aren't going for the "high fashion" look like the UK Version or the Season 1 USA Version. Even the glitzy and flashy openings and promos are gone to.
They are going for a more youth oriented feel and look, hence why Simon is not in the suits like he was last season, and is instead opting for his trademark jeans and tshirt.
So for what they are going for, Britney and Demi look perfectly fine.
But those over produced and over the top performances prove otherwise... I think they're going to tone it down though so you may be right
For the theme, Divas basically is the same thing as Female Artists
Well I always thought originally by Divas people meant big voiced female artists like Mariah, Whitney, etc.. But I'm excited contestants won't be stuck with those old ass songs

I honestly think it will kinda depend on what Simon has to say, I feel like if he drags her people will be like "She's such a bad mentor! Simon=Boss for calling her out" But then if Demi and her acts get praised the following week by the other judges for the improvement thay've made, then people might change their minds.
