Yes, but he talked earlier in the show about next year's auditions. It did get renewed for a tenth season. It probably won't do well, but there is going to be one.
Seriously, though. The major question of the night is where was David Cook? It just seemed really strange to me that all other seven
Idol winners were there, but he wasn't. It's not like he's busier than the others. Carrie's promoting her wildly successful third album, and Kris is busy promoting his debut album, and I'm pretty sure Kelly is working on recording her fifth album, so if they were able to make time, then why wasn't he able to? It just made it seem really incomplete.
I remember what was going through me when the performance started. First I was like "WOO! Kelly!" Then, "Hey, look, it's Reuben." A split second later, "No!? Are they really doing this?" Then Fantasia comes out. "Oh my God! Yes, they are!" Carrie comes out. "Kelly and Carrie performing together! Bring out Jordin now!" Jordin comes out. "Holy crap! Wait, where's Taylor?" Taylor comes out. "Why did he come out after Jordin?" Kris comes out. "Why are we skipping seasons all of a sudden." They continue to perform. I wait. "Where's Cook?" A lot more past alumni come out dressed in white. "Whoa!! Oh my gosh!" Then the performance was over. "Wow! That was great. But why wasn't Cook there?" And I haven't been able to shake that question ever sense.
