Anyway, I always wondered why the evolution animation had the number 2's in it, when it's just supposedly 1 and 0 (as per binary). At least, this got answered in this ova being a new type of numerical representation. I hope they decode it soon. I miss the original evolution animations.

He's super effective against Devimon and the like because he's a (Holy/Light) vaccine type against their (Dark) virus types. Almost every single adversary the digidestined encounter in the first season is a Virus type, the only exceptions being Metalseadramon and the first few digimon being possesed by the black gears (if you even count those).
And even during his battle with Devimon, he had to use up all of his power + the power of the digivices to defeat him (granted he had a buttload of black gears to power him up).
I don't know how reliable the digimon wiki is but even there it states that Angemon's perceived power in the series came from the fact that his opponents were primarily 'evil' digimon.
Angemon and Angewomon being a pair is honestly an aesthetic thing. They look better together than her and MagnaAngemon imo.

Gatomon honestly should have more core strength than most of her comrades (regardless of affinity) because of all the **** she went through under Myotismon tbh.

And also another example is Alphamon vs the Jessmon , its either Jessmon a jogress level or theyre not doing the evolution ranking as if Jessmon isnt a jogress level theres no way he could keep par with Alphamon

I'm expecting Ophanimon to be Gatomon's Mega tbh, but I reaaaaallly hope it's Magnadramon. The latter is underrated and I wanna bathe in the tears of ha haters if she gets revealed on the poster for the 5th OVA.
