LOL.
Legends are never over. They're legends.
Aretha, Tina turner, Madonna, Barbra, Mariah, Prince, MJ, Whitney, Shania, Celine etc.
whether or not they go platinum again they'll never be over.
When you become a legend before being over then that is the perk.
People will just look at her as a nostalgic act.
Mariah, celine, Madonna keep putting out albums but no one truly takes them seriously.
Britney's impact and influence were massive and live on in the newer generations.
Her performances are legendary. Her videos are legendary. Her songs are classics. her story and resilience is legendary. She wrote the book on the good bad and ugly of the industry and how to come out of it not only on top but truly a smarter, happier more valuable person
She's created a blueprint for teen stars to successfully navigate from teen pop to an adult pop star with the BOMT-In the zone transition.
She clears 4 categories of legendary status
genre (pop) - she became a pop music legend in 2011
pop culture - she became a pop culture legend in 2008
entertainment - she became an entertainment legend in 2008
overall music - she only became an icon in 2011. The industry would not be the same without her but she really needed to make more moves musically to be legendary in that regard. Circus should have been her defining moment and had they taking it more seriously we might not have had a Britney Jean album.
3 of 4 (majority) - a legend.
some have only 2 of 4 or 1 of 4 so they are still icons.
I don't think anyone has 4 of 4 but Justin timberlake and Beyonce might the ones from her generation that will get their in the oncoming years.
This legend...
