I watched Crimson Peak.

Like I expected it wasn't THAT creepy and I wouldn't call it horror. It was a paranormal thriller but probably one of the most beautiful movies of the last years. The story twist is really cool and unique in a way. When I talked to my best friend about it we were sure that we were so happy that we got a ticket to see this movie.

Crimson Peak has great visuals, a dramatic love story with suspense, blood and fantastic actors.

BTW the director Del Toro called it a classic gothic romance himself so as usual the industry had to put it in the horror category.

I'm glad to see another opinion as mine. SCREAM is a classic, but I don't find it offensive to say the sequel outdid it. It's a compliment to Wes/Kevin, as sequels usually downgrade in quality.

The original Friday the 13th, Pamela Voorhees . Scream IV, the young female lead is the killer . The wolf vignette from Trick r Treat is a good example, as well.

Hm. I'm only thinking of times when the women were villains. It's hard to find them just sorta there.

YES!
I love that movie!
It's a bit too reliant on jumpscares but the execution was great and I loved the concept.
It has Brendon Thwaites as well so you can thirst!

Devil's Due is crap. DUFE is okay, more of a supernatural drama than a horror. I think Cabin Fever is your best choice.

I just got back from seeing it. I enjoyed it a lot, as well. I'm a big fan of period dramas, and this fell in that vein for me. Great acting and the story was engaging, plus everything was gorgeously done, each shot was just like a painting.

Crimson Peak is not an horror movie, mess, it's a romantic play and the phantoms are just there as a metaphor, the film even goes out of its way to tell the audience that it's not an horror movie like, 4 times during the first 10 minutes

It's not scary, but I think it's a horror movie because it uses elements of horror to tell its story.
