The notion of NHB became overbearing once it turned into a contest to see who could say the most shocking things (see: KyKy) rather than confront legitimate issues/disagreements between members. And now, if you can't control yourself on an internet forum centered on largely imaginary problems, you probably need to be sitting in a therapist session instead of browsing ATRL.

I think that reports should stay, they are to help the moderators, and to keep the forum running smoothly.
They can't everywhere at once.
Yes, some members seem to abuse it, but I think that is just something we will have to deal with.

Without reports this thread would be full of post and it would just even cause a bigger mess.

Yes, first we had the problem with everyone making pointless posts in NHB and fake fights just to get ntosied. We made HQ for that which has helped a lot with general banter and things that do not belong in there.

Then, NHB turned into people just wanting to 1-up the next poster. There has only 1 or 2 legitimate uses for the thread in the past few months.

Ideally, NHB was to sit idle unless there was a true need for conflict, but, as shown by ATRL time and time again, our members cannot exercise restraint and temperance. Therefore, you lose privileges and then whine when they are taken away.
