Re-watching the episode, I think a lot of people took hits in the rankings. Just some thoughts:
On No Collar, Will seems to be hanging by a thread, but I think if he can make it to the swap, he'll be safe for a while. Jenn has no chance of winning, in my opinion, but she'll probably go far. I think Hali's gotten the best portrayal out of all the remaining no collars, because she's shown to be talking some strategy but also being a free spirit that's been shielded from the negativity on that tribe. Joe's been the most confusing so far, because you'd think he'd be a Malcolm-like charmer, which he is in some scenes, but his bad moments complicates things for him. He said he understands Nina and told her not to worry, but then he keep her marginalized during the challenge and later votes her out. We also saw him being rather stubborn about the building of the shelter in the premiere, so I think he'll be in for a downfall come the merge, possibly reminiscent of LJ.
Blue Collar's a mess but I doubt they go to tribal before the swap, and once the swap does happen, I'd bet everything will boil over for them. There's major tension between seemingly two sides: Mike/Dan and Rodney/Lindsey. It seems like only one side will prevail, which will probably be Mike/Dan. Rodney had a really bad episode while Lindsey continues to be abrasive towards Dan and Mike, now not only in the confessionals. Mike appears to be annoying, but comes off more like a victim to Rodney's and Lindsey's rude remarks. Their whole scuffle also took some heat off of Dan, who seems to be in for some redemption after his rocky start. Meanwhile, Kelly and Sierra are still in the background. I think Kelly's confessional was a big one, however, and she'll smartly yet quietly play her way well into the merge. Sierra is still up in the air. I think her fate will depend on her finding a solid alliance, because eventually, people are probably going to see her as a challenge threat.
On While Collar, Shirin is nutty and annoys pretty much the whole tribe, but especially Joaquin. However, I think she's sticking around and her potentially alienating herself is a red herring. I think her and Max will go deep, when eventually one of them will slit the other's throat. There's no room for two
Survivor aficionados in the game. I think Joaquin and Carolyn are more in trouble than those two are. Joaquin still lacks a solid alliance and doesn't seem to have much of a social game, except with Tyler. Carolyn was huge in the premiere, then wasn't seen at all, and now is only seen scoffing at Shirin and sitting by the fire while everyone looks for the idol. It would've been a smarter play to pretend to look with everyone else, because then others are suspicious of you, and also because complacency is death in
Survivor. Tyler, on the other hand, is in a great spot. but comes off as a sober voice-of-reason, narrating it all. We still don't know much about who Tyler actually is as a character, which isn't that good for him.
Apparently this week's back-to-back episodes are the best of the season, so I can't wait!
