Of course she is hoping for single success because if she wasn't she wouldn't have released them period. Besides fans will buy the album regardless. Singles is what promotes the album to the general public/casual listener. Saying that she or her label isn't worried about singles is untrue. Remember her label swapping Blow for XO for the last minute? They wanted to play it safe on pop for a reason. Her and her label want success in every aspect this era.

I think pop will jump on it either way but the Grammy's could speed it along. What will probably come of the Grammys is more streaming and higher sales and of course exposure!

I think pop may play it slightly more if it enters the top ten on BB, but you're right, I don't think it will receive any major airplay without an official add to pop radios...

Yeah, I want to see better updates for DIL on pop. I don't care that the label hasn't sent it for adds yet, pop can/should still play it. Especially since they're dropping XO. It needs to be picking up more pop airplay by next Tuesday. Urban and rhythmic can only take it so far.

Record labels "send" songs to radio formats for airplay. Right now DIL is being played mainly on urban and rhythmic stations because it had not been officially sent to pop radio by the label. The label is still promoting XO on pop radio at the moment.

Yes it is. She was so brilliant with that -- and she actually laced a lot of the album with meme worthy phrases. She's becoming extremely savvy about manipulating social media/viral culture in her favor.

While other celebs are perched on social media killing their potential endorsements and just embarrassing themselves left and right in general, she's quietly slaughtering the 'net while posting pics of vegan cupcakes and Blue Ivy's silhouette to Instagram/Tumblr with smiley faces. King gets it.

I'm happy Drunk in Love is crossing over tho. I wish they would have just made it the sole lead for the US sent it to pop to begin with; they were probably scared to send an urban track to pop after RTW, but there isn't a dominant trend now like there was in '11 and pop is so much more receptive to urban music now. I think she needs to perform this at the Grammys and send this to pop for adds immediately after. This has potential to be a serious hit.

I hope this performance makes Drunk In Love get huge updates on urban again and I also hopes it go massive on pop. I really just want it to go #1 and i don't want Partition to jump on Urban just yet!

I doubt she'll have huge updates on urban like she did before, the typical peak is 30 million and she is at 32 million.

To be honest, and I'm speaking from personal experience, the record grew too fast on urban and it's already played out to some. I go to the club every week and the first month everyone was like AYYYYEEEE! Now some are like, "I can't hear this anymore!"

Now this is Atlanta which is the Mecca of urban music, so I'm sure it's not like that in other places.
