70s/80s artists are not used at AWWWL here (I don't know if Egypt ever used them in their heyday though. I hadn't been born yet). Michael Jackson and Madonna are, of course, known by everybody here, but I doubt any random person of the GP can name one song of theirs. Ed Sheeran is popular here as well as Maroon 5. Unfortunately, the majority of Egyptians who listened to foreign music ar every US Top 40-oriented. They don't check out songs unless they're pushed in their faces.

I Will Always Love You is her only hit here. I think the song is more known than Whitney. A lot of people know the chorus, but can't name its singer Mariah is not very known here. A lot of people heard her name for the first time when she was mentioned in a popular TV series here

Celine, on the other hand, is very well-known among listeners of foreign music here (The GP is semi-aware of her, I think). She's more popular here than Mariah and Celine. My Heart Will Go On is still widely-played and referenced here.
