Did you really think that all those people trashing Nicole that night went out of their way watch her Royal Variety performance on Youtube and suddenly liked her? The Rachel Crowe incident was definitely significant for someone like Nicole who was barely visible in the American public then (and invisible now). It didn't stall Nicole's career because she didn't have a career stateside in the first place; it just made it worse. You mentioned other celebs surviving similar/worse situations, but I can't think of any that were in similar position as Nicole. They already had solo careers, were popular at one point and were able to make comebacks. Nicole never even had the first two.
I definitely believe the American public's perception of her lacking talent has played a big part in her career; no one really takes her seriously music-wise and she's not Miley, Rihanna or Britney where she can get away with lacking talent using gimmicks, past achievements, publicity stunts etc. The only other issue with her is her ethnicity and age (maybe even her surname). No one finds anything interesting about her alone except that she's sexy and "exotic," but there are plenty of other women who fit the bill. If there's more it, what is it? Nicole isn't lacking talent, good materials, promo opportunities, etc. There isn't anything else. People don't connect with her because of those things and love to undermine her (when they even give her a thought).

I'm not living in a "stan bubble." We obviously just view things differently. I see where you're coming from though. It's just too bad that you don't understand me and render my arguments as "weak" as a result. You also don't have to take what I've said literally. Never did I say that everyone who had trashed Nicole for the Rachel Crowe controversy rushed to Youtube to see her perform "Phantom of the Opera." That would be extreme. My point is that no matter what has happened, she has been able to bounce back. She was able to show people a different side to her through the performances that I've mentioned, both musically and personally (and during a time wherein she really needed it after the Rachel Crowe mess). I'm not saying that the whole world stopped what they were doing to notice, but at least she was able to show some people what she is truly all about. I'm not blind to all of the setbacks that Nicole has experienced. I'd rather just focus on how resilient she is as a person, and a person who is still able to find work in such a rough industry. Also, I, myself, cannot think of other celebrities going through similar situations, which is why I had originally said "similar situations
and/or worse."
And if I knew what "it" was, then I would have explained it. There are some things that we just can't pinpoint

I have to agree, just look at twitter what people from the US have to say about her Herbal commercial, things like "why is that p*ssy cat wh*re moaning in a plane..?' and stuff like that. Nicole has damaged herself so much in the US. With Right There she had a bit of potential, but honestly that was more of the bandwagon sound, rather than actual people caring about her.
Like Inverted said, her age will work against her at this point. People like JLO can have easier bounce backs since they have a discography to fall back on (and JLO is latina). The only thing Nicole can fall back on is her PCD discography, but that is basically the thing she wants to seperate herself from to some extend. Add to that that she and her team are horrible in taking the right descisions and you have the perfect recipe for a failing career. Every descision she has taken solo wise in the United States, have crushed her profile.

Those are ignorant people. I'm sure that there are people out there who recognize that Nicole is staying true to the original concept of the Herbal Essences advertisements.
I understand that there are certain things that are presently working against her, but it's not as if there weren't things working against her in the past.
It's cool though. I see where you are coming from as well. I just wanted to present a different view
