I first learned about Katy when I saw the Hot N Cold music video on tv. I fell in love instantly. I immediately downloaded every song I could find by her off of Limewire.

I didn't hear I Kissed A Girl before then (although I knew of it) since no one in my family or circle of friends listened to pop at the time. Actually, I heard a parody, I Kissed A Boy, first.
I loved a lot of her unreleased material too (that was on Limewire too), Simple, Use Your Love, Wish You The Worst, and Hook Up. I was so naive; I didn't know the concept of an album and an unreleased music. I just assumed that if people liked an artist they would hunt down all their songs on the internet like I did.
I remember in May 2010, I was with a friend and I was singing Kesha's Take It Off, and when I sang the opening line incorrectly "There's a place I know downtown..". My friend thought I was singing California Gurls and started singing it with me. I never heard the song before and looked at her like she was crazy and then she looked at me like I was crazy.
Anyways, I got my license that year so I heard all her hits. When E.T. came around, I officially progressed from fan to stan.
