Billboard said so here. If you've got problems with that, well send them a letter.
What makes a legend? according to you.
And sorry but I'm not here for Monsters, who will always hate on Xtina for whatever reason. That's so 2008.

From the link you gave me, Billboard said the following:
Quote:
After Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera was the most popular female singer of the late-'90s teen pop revival.
|
"'90s teen pop revival" is the key phrase here. Yes, out of all the teen pop acts Christina was pretty big. I already acknowledge her success. However, on the larger spectrum, you know..the one that includes all acts, Christina is not in the same league as her most of her peers - who have had greater impact. This is why I say Christina is, and always will be, more of an icon. Based on the past and the present, when was there ever a hint that she would be on the same page as Michael, Madonna, Prince, Cher, or Barbara? She does have the talent, though.
You 'not being here for monsters' is irrelevant . I'm not here for delusions either, but neither of us is getting what we want.

You don't seem to be so objective either.

First of all, I gave Christina her props. I never claimed for her to be untalented or undeserving. You tried it, but this is false.

This thread asks about everyone's own personal opinion if Christina "will" be a legend and the majority responds that question with a "Yes", hell even some members go that far and say that she already is a legend.

Personal opinions are fantastic. Everyone has one. Though your opinion is only good as your facts you have to back up these opinions. Rihanna fans think she is a vocalist and Britney stans believe modern day Britney can dance better than Beyonce. Claiming Christina is a legend or not on this site does not really hold any weight, which is why I went outside of ATRL to inform you all where Christina stood among her peers.

While I agree with you that she's still more of an Icon in pop culture than a "Legend", this has nothing to do with her success, but that she's still in the middle of her career and it's long from being over yet.
|
So now she is in the middle of her career? Whatever happened to her being this veteran who showed the test of time? Christina has been out since, what, '97?

Look at Mariah Carey, you can call her a legend, because she has already accomplished the greatest things you can in this business. She's still making music, but she's already over 20 years in the biz. Don't try to make your opinion seem more important than others, because it simply isn't.

No, hun. You are giving me just opinions. All of what you said is opinion without supported facts. I stated my opinion, and provided links to support the claim that Christina is not in the same league as her peers. Rolland tried the same, but she was clocked, unfortunately. The link Rolland provided only proves Christina to be a 90s teen pop rival nostalgia act.
