Chile. America did that to a few other Latin American countries as well. Mainly because the "democratically elected leader" was either a communist, a socialist, or a facist, and we were afraid it would become a big problem in the future if not dealt with.
Common sense tells me that it would be easier to shoot down an aircraft than to achieve this and plot a suitable cover up that involves misleading and manipulating the families of the people involved in addition to planting evidence and fabricating a debris field

My country never planned to invade anything though, Americans were just afraid of losing money.
Their fear was somewhat genuine. They just dealt with it the bad way. It seemed they only cared about protecting Americans/American interests, rather than the people of those countries.

Yes but if you were a socialist or communist it was possible you could have exerted influence on other surrounding democratic countries and tun them communistic/socialistic
This reminds me of how people that came up with the FEMA camp conspiracy took some satellite imagery from a NORTH KOREAN concentration camp, changed a few details, and used it as evidence for the FEMA camp conspiracy.

That's definitely true. If America pokes its head into other countries its ALWAYS to help America first, then the other country. It's always how it's done. I guess its human nature to look out for yourself as well but that's why we will always have war and never peace

But we had a democracy the USA intervened and helped to place a DICTATOR who killed thousands of people including children. He also torture them and we even had concentration camps like in nazi Germany.
