A lot of people aren't tuned in to pop culture enough to know/care about our faves biggest moments. Unless you die or make headline mainstream news, it could easily go unnoticed by many. Particularly the demographics watching the Super Bowl.
Whilst the Oscars was a big moment in pop culture, I wouldn't be surprised if the last impression of Gaga for many was when she wore meat.
(And before anyone gets any dragging ideas from the above - the same applies for all our faves. Most of the **** people class as "iconic" passes millions of people by in the real world.)
