This is such a mellow jam by Turnover. If you want a song just to chill to or just drive to, this is the song.
29. The Weeknd - The Hills
Now this is The Weeknd that I'm glad smashed. "I Can't Feel My Face" is nice, but I feel "The Hills" is more up his alley.
28. Against the Current - Paralyzed
*tries not to say anything about Paramore* but I get early Paramore vibes from "Paralyzed" by Against the Current, I guess that's why I love it so much. Plus the lyrics are great.
27. Beach Slang - Young & Alive
From the beginning of time, there have been countless songs about being young and alive and I only like a handle full of them including this one by Beach Slang.
26. AWOLNATION - Windows
Awolnation continues to experiment in sounds and they continue to do it well in songs like "Windows". Aaron Bruno really knows how to create.
Apparently Asking Alexandria has a new lead singer. And he sounds pretty awesome on "I Won't Give In". Just an awesome song. The songwriting is pretty great too.
24. Kygo - Nothing Left feat. Will Heard
I first heard this song when I was half asleep. When I woke up, I had to go listen what the hell I listened to because it was so damn good. "Nothing Left" is just a smooth as hell song. The ending has to be favorite part of the song.
23. The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die - January 10, 2014
The lyrics to this song were too interesting not to look up so I found this:
Quote:
"Inspired by a true story they heard on the podcast This American Life, TWIABP wrote this song as a tribute to a female vigilante from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. In 2013, this killer hunted bus drivers in retribution for women who had been murdered travelling alone on public buses. In letters claiming responsibility for the killings, she called herself “Diana, the hunter of drivers”. Diana was the Roman goddess of hunting, childbirth and the moon, and the song contains plenty of references to her attributes."
22. August Burns Red - Vanguard
The beginning to this song is what gets me and then the rest of the song is a melodramatic, wonderful experience.
21. Counterparts - Burn
It was the year of melodic hardcore music for me and "Burn" by Counterparts is a gem. The switching from slow to heavy pumping is great.
