and that's the point. That guy may have auditioned, but what the guy in the OP is saying in his video is that they weren't looking for Asian actors. It doesn't have to be something they told everyone and why would they? It sounds racist as hell. I think that's what he meant by he wasn't "allowed to audition", there was no point, they weren't going to even allow him a fair shot because he was Asian.

They're not doing it because they're saying she's white/ Anglo-Saxon. In Japan, white people are incredibly fetishized. They like white people features, and want them on themselves so bad. Should the guy in OP have been cast? Yes, he should've. The white dude they did cast looks ugly as hell and nothing like the character, The character is very racially ambiguous and anyone who says otherwise is blind. So was the casting decision wrong? Yes. Should it have been someone more ambiguous? Yes. But most anime characters do look white as hell
