Can the Britney stans chill, no one is saying Taylor is more famous/iconic than Britney but her success in the US is clearly bigger than any artist that has debuted in the last two decades
You don't have to experience an artist's peak to know how big or small their peak was. All you have to do's check the receipts. Ya'll say Baby One More Time was a massive hit in 1999 based on what you supposedly lived through yet the receipts say no. A 2 week at #1, less than 100 million AI song, with weak sales clearly wasn't huge. All of Taylor's #1s were bigger on the H100.

Pop songs are huger than they used to be before 2008. Can you stop trying?
Taylor has bigger albums. No one is doing 5 million in the US in 2015 except for Taylor, whereas plenty of artists were doing 10 million (and up) when Britney was doing it.
Taylor has more hits.
Taylor has just as many iconic videos as Britney.
Taylor has bigger tours.
Taylor has been consistently slaying, something Britney hasn't done since 2001.
How is being consistently forgettable better than having several iconic eras?
She had 2 iconic eras at most. I only knew who she was as a kid because Nickelodeon used to play her videos all the time. It wasn't until I started lurking on here that I found out that BOMT & OIDIA were actually different songs. After those 2 eras I had didn't here a thing about her until the mental break and there is nothing iconic about having a mental illness. After that she was forgotten. I only hear about her now because of this website
