I guess Nicki is perceived as the Queen out of the current crop of Rap Girls.
Whilst Missy, Lauryn, Lil Kim laid the foundations and were much more creative than Nicki (in my opinion), it's hard to back them up in the current music climate when none of them are actively releasing music. Then when they do (Kim), it's embarrassing to their legacy.
Personally, I think Azealia is the most interesting & creative out of the new generation but she lacks the budget, backing and success that Nicki's had, also Iggy to an extent. So I don't think she'll ever be a major player but that's ok though.
