Everyone already knew Lady Gaga was brunette from New York that played rocker style music. We know. We've heard her E.P. Red and Blue. We've watched her play piano ballads at NYU. We've seen performances of her playing rocker style music in bars. Everyone already knew all this. We already knew she transitioned. She has explained this herself dozens of times, she used to play Iron Maiden rock music with DJ Lady Starlight on the Lower East Side of NY. We already knew she didn't play pop music or look the way she does now

Gaga's case is different because that's just obvious. From day one I knew it was all something she was putting on, I remember watching one of her earliest interviews right around the time "Just Dance" was first released where she said blatantly that her persona was all an act. I think it was a radio show interview or something but there was a video for it. Then I've seen later interviews where says it's not a persona and that "this is how I really am". And really, anybody who really followed her pre-"The Fame" would see how much of a drastic change that is.
