Whatta a big difference.

DMX sold a decent amount of records in his day but has spent too much of his career in prison to have any real impact. Ja Rule sold a lot at his peak. 50 Cent sold a ton and is now filing for bankruptcy, and neither of them had a lasting impact.
Limp Bizkit sold over 6 million copies of "Chocolate Starfish And Hot Dog Flavored Water," but their contribution to the Rock/Rap hybrid is questionable.

Also, look at the huge selling songs by LMFAO and consider their lack of impact. How about the Black Eyes Peas? They sold a lot, and Fergie had one successful solo CD, but the second one bombed, and BEP's follow up to "The E.N.D." performed poorly.
