Katy has pop music, pop/rock music, stripped/acoustic, Christian music, ????????????????????? TD/the first half of Prism could be the same album and the rest is Christian/pop. Parts of OOTB are pop and parts are pop/rock and then she has has stripped versions of the OOTB songs (the genre I think suits her voice much more).
Taylor's more consistent with her lyrics. Aside from Welcome to New York and Shake It Off, the rest of 1989 is full of songs with great lyrics while Prism has been criticized for being nothing but cliches and being predictable lyrically and has some absolute travesties. Not to mention Taylor is known for writing songs 100% herself and does not enlist many, if any at all, cowriters. 1989 is full of co-writers that are just producers getting their credit.

If you're going to pull all those out of your head then Katy has done trap, hip-hop, dance, disco, etc.
In reality, the first half of PRISM alone is sonically more diverse than the whole of 1989.
