What competition did Shake It Off and Blank Space have? Only Girl, S&M, and What's My Name? were competing with some of the biggest singles of the decade (Firework, Teenage Dream, Just the Way You Are, Grenade, Born This Way, E.T., Rolling In the Deep, etc.).
What was Taylor's competition? All About That Bass (which still ended up being bigger than any single Taylor has ever released)?
Not to mention she still has non-singles charting around the top 100 months after her album was released, and of course I Knew You Were Trouble is still charting far higher than most other songs released around the same time it came out (Diamonds isn’t even in the top 1000 in the US) (while IKYWT is top 150 in Australia).
