Welp
Let's be real.
Do you think a song like The night is still young was created for The pinkprint to be an album track.
That's like Nicki creating Anaconda and not releasing it.
Business minded thinking: Certain songs are designed to be a single.
Unfortunately, that means that one quality (well in this case 3 quality singles were not chosen this era).

I think people need to realize that this is not meant to be her HIp hop era. Initially, this was going to be a hip hip classic and the album title would have made sense. Now she claims she only record 25 songs (which we know is a lie) and the direction of the album changed in the summer after PNP underperformed.
You don't build up with LAN and PNP and wait until December to release.
Even her ex was tweeting about the studio time they spent in the summer and Nicki did not give us a hint at a release date because she didn't want to and then see early singles underperform and then go into the studio to make it obvious the direciton changed.
Still nonetheless, when Dr Luke came on board in September I all but knew that this was a direction shift and it was now about business and cover her bases.
TNISY and GOYK will give her stronger presence on top 40...so it's a smart business move

Sorry to say but this is the Nicki the GP likes. This song is basically Starships 2.0 (although I prefer this to SS). She needs the radio play and sales in conjunction with the European tour, so it is smart marketing.
GOTK is a great song but I feel it would only do well locally. Still needs to be released with FM/TB.

TNISY is Va va voom/Masquerade/Starships/We are young/Kesha and 2011 morphed into one song with a dark underbelly that makes it slightly more interesting.
