Christina Aguilera releases lead single, Waves

Length: 4:27
Producer: Mark Ronson
Writer: Christina Aguilera, Matt Morris
Genre: Indie Rock/AC
Album: TBA
During a press conference yesterday, Miss Aguilera confirmed a series of rumoured reports that Waves is indeed the lead single of her upcoming 8th studio album. She followed the shocking announcement with the official artwork for the Mark Ronson-produced track. It features a pregnant Aguilera being draped in Egyptian cotton and tastefully posing nude in front of a simplistic, white background embezzled by intricately drawn text. It's now public knowledge, after a bit of digging, that Waves is a fusion of indie rock and adult contemporary. This sees Christina - the voice of our generation - venturing out, exploring other styles of music.
Waves was released to the masses a few hours before it started rising up on the charts like a Lotus. The alternative concoction was met with a pretty well-received response as it peaked many interest in those who wouldn't otherwise have given Aguilera a chance. Mark Ronson was the beatmaker behind Waves and has notoriously been linked to Amy Winehouse and Adele's extremely successful careers. This could prove to be a great musical move on Christina's part. Nothing's been confirmed as to whether Ronson produced other songs for Christina's 8th upcoming studio album.
Legend X's resonant vocals soar throughout the track as a spontaneous instrumental accompanies her emotionally-driven crooning. Waves has a very interesting structure but still maintains a hook that draws you in. It's definitely a risky project when compared to Aguilera's past singles that were more designed to appeal to radio. Having said that, we have no doubts that this flawlessly executed attempt at being abstract will make a splash and send waves throughout the industry.
Radio has already picked up Waves, actually. Many stations gave the mature lead single a couple of spins yesterday before it was even released. This was quite surprising because Christina is seemingly notorious for having a strained relationship with radio and their system. She rarely ever does radio interviews although, according to Catalyst Fall Records, that will soon change after Aguilera returns to The Voice in the springtime during its 8th season.
It is not known, however, what Aguilera's album shall be called although many speculate that she's going to be taking a rather unconventional approach this era. In other news, Catalyst Fall Records (Xtina's record label) has recently signed on another artist: Bjork. The internet became rampant a few days ago when the CEO of Catalyst Fall Records released a statement which essentially updated its roster and included Bjork amongst many other unknowns. The social media stratosphere then blew up when Christina tweeted: "Having a girls' night out with @bjork. She's such a hoot! XoXtina #labelmates". Wouldn't you guys love to see a collaboration happen between them? Apparently, it's in the works according to a source close to the revered record label.
Xtina's lead single, Waves, is available to purchase NOW.

You can do TV performances (Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Ellen, etc.) and write about your artist's performance, their vocals, how the stage looks, how your artist looks. You can also do interviews as well.
You can do radio promo as well, come up with controversies (X is dating Y; X is fighting with Y over Z; X shades Y; etc.), you can book your artist a magazine cover, your artist could release a fashion line, a new perfume, team up with someone, for example, Target or Beats by Dr. Dre to promote their single. Think what artists do in real life to promote their material, and just write articles about it.

Justin's label, along with the superstar himself took to Twitter to announce his new album 'The Collection & More'. The album is just a quick Greatest Hits like album, with all his past singles, some demos/outtakes, and some new songs. The 3 disc collection is set to be released after this Christmas weekend by his longtime label 'Hyped Records'. The tracklist, below contains 30 tracks -- 20 of which are past singles, 4 demos, and 6 new tracks. The project was first planned and put into effort starting around 6 months ago according to the chairman over at the label, who says 'Justin is beginning to merge into other things in the industry, he has lots of roles in movies. We realize he's become an all-around person, and music isn't the thing he does 24/7. This album is just a way to put him back into music and keep him relevant, while providing some new stuff that's also not as much work and time as a complete album'. We've apparently heard from a studio engineer that he recorded 14 new songs for this, and wanted anywhere from 5-8 to make the cut, and 6 did. One of the producers, DJ Mustard who put input into 'Da Vinci' said 'From the preview I got to hear, this collection is fire. It's all his old stuff, and the best of the best out of his unheard stuff. It really shows why he has a spot in this industry, and why he's done so well. It's a reflection of his success'.
Disc 1
1. Cassanova
2. Come & Get It (with Selena Gomez)
3. Brand New Day (with Kesha)
4. #HitTheDrum (with Selena Gomez)
5. This Will Be the End
6. Trainwreck Paradise Island
7. (You Got Me) Jumbled Up
8. Chemistry
9. Top Notch ('Thrill Seeker' Demo)
10. Up 2 U ('Believe' Demo)
Disc 2
1. Hot Right Now
2. Turnt
3. My Everything (feat. Foxes)
4. Showtime
5. Time After Time (with Taylor Swift)
6. Fast Times
7. Favorite Kind of Trouble (with Eric Saade)
8. So Much For You
9. Take Me to Your Heaven
10. Just Between Us (with Selena Gomez)
Disc 3
1. Memphis (feat. Big Sean)
2. Grand Scheme
3. Master Technique
4. Fever
5. Da Vinci
6. Too Good to Lose (with Taylor Swift)
7. Dressin' Out ('The Complete Dream' Demo)
8. Shortness of Breath ('Crossing Paths' Demo)
9. I Feel It (Holiday Spirit)
10. Last Christmas
Along with a new collection hitting stores in days coming, it's first single is premiering on radio stations tonight and hitting iTunes at Midnight. The first single is 'Memphis', which features Big Sean. It's an R&B leaning song, with ties to his previous artistry in old album 'Crossing Paths'. People over at Billboard say that there's some stations that have got a sneak peek of the single, and love it. They're ready to take the Holiday songs off rotation tonight, and put the new single into an hourly rotation just to get it out to the public that he's back. 'The single sounds like a mix of just a downtown club anthem, and a song you put on in a dance studio and just freestyle to' said the radio DJ over a Hot 97. Justin's popping the corks and opening the champagne meanwhile at a Christmas party tonight, that's celebrating the beginning of the new era. Rumors also keep circulating that him and fiance Vanessa are finally planning to tie the knot.
Biebs also took to Twitter to announce there'd be a competition. 'Keep tweeting me all day! 10 lucky Beliebers will get to ask me some questions on the new era'. Immediately after tweeting so, the star's Twitter blew UP. To be exact, he went trending to #1 on Twitter worldwide, along with 'The Collection & More' + 'Memphis', and 'new Justin Bieber'. Justin's taken the internet by storm with the new Christmas release as planned, once the actual songs come we're sure the pandemonium will ensue even more. Justin in the meantime is down in Memphis, where he's supposedly premiering the single on radios. Justin spoke on the upcoming era last month in an interview with Billboard, stating 'Yeah, I have some stuff coming soon. I know my fans have been thirsting for some new songs for a little while now, and best believe -- they're coming soon. Just wait, you'll get the gift. I plan to have some fun this time, and do something new in store. I think my fans, and the rest of the public will enjoy it too. Just stayed tune, there's more to come'. Justin has also recently been picking up some new movie projects supposedly, including scripts with Hollywood actors including Johnny Depp & Justin Timberlake. Could he star in a Pirates of the Carribean sequel? A comedy flick with Justin Timberlake? Who knows, the rumors are still in store with nothing to come atop yet. In the meantime, we're preparing for the new era along with his fans. Something new as promised, and definitely appealing to the public -- a collection of the chart topping hits which made his career. Everyone loves 1 or 2 Bieber singles by now. For now, just get your popcorn and headphones while preparing for the upcoming 6 new tracks + 4 demos on this compilation, 'The Collection & More'.

COMPLEX MAG REVlEWS: Austin Mahone debuts lead single... Wait For This Love
Length: 3:49
Producer: Austin Mahone
Writers: Mahone
Producer: Mahone
Austin Mahone is back and better than ever with the return of a new single. He teased earlier today that the new single is coming to iTunes later today and he did not disappoint! At first we were a little hesitant because if you don't know Austin Mahone like we do... his music is a lot more pop friendly. And by pop-friendly we mean Justin Bieber's My World era type of pop friendly. But lf you have been sleeping on Mahone before then you are missing out. He has been shedding that virgin/good boy image and has tapped into a mature version of himself.
Now that Austin is 18 and barely legal, he is quite the romantic fellow. From what we can tell, he has pushed aside the bubblegum pop songs about lusting over another prepubescent. And this is is the music we love to hear from him! A butterfly hatching from his cocoon and into a lady killer. We love it! There is nothing better than seeing an artist evolve right before your eyes. And to see some artistic integrity some him is quite impressive! Most labels milk acts like him dry. They only see him as a cash cow because of the teenage fanbase behind him. But the coin is on the other hand now.
ln the song we can hear sharper and stronger vocals from Mahone than ever before. We also hear some autotuned high notes from him which seems to work out in his favor. Admittedly his vocal ability is amazing and we must admit he has a better vocal range than most of his teenybopper peers. Don't let the autotune fool you! You can even check of his old YouTube covers where he sings hit songs from previous years as proof of his vocal skill.
There will be more to come from Austin so it would be best to look out for him. He always posting pics of him in the studio. We are ready to see what he has up his sleeve. The more you stay busy working on the music then the better it is. Austin has to potential to be the Usher of his time or even better!
As far as sales and chart success is going, he song has also snatched the number one spot on the iTunes chart without a banner. Who knew his fan base was so huge. Wait For Love has found a special place in our hearts and made us hype for his album. Keep it up, Mahone. We see success in your future.
