♫ Sugar Rush's Best Album Tracks of 2014 ♫ #15 - #11
#15. Sara Evans - Revival
A upbeat tempo song that talks about being "Revived" in life and just overall very positive. It's the last track on Sara's album and it is well worth the wait.
#14. Hunter Hayes - You Think You Know Somebody
I feel this is a very vulnerable performance that anyone can relate too. You fall in love with somebody, devote your life to them and they learn everything about you only for everything to go wrong. Upon the release of "Storyline" this song stood out to me and couldn't help but feel a personal connection to it. Easily, one of Hunter's strongest songs he's ever wrote.
#13. Taylor Swift - This Love
Country princess turn queen of pop sees her first of three entries with the gorgeous ballad "This Love". Perhaps it's Taylor's signature love themed song she became famous for, there's something so genuine and calm, yet haunting about this performance that makes me feel emotions I can't feel listening to any normal song. It is a stunning performance, and I hope it sees the light of becoming a single.
#12. Dolly Parton - Banks of the Ohio
Dolly does a great cover on a common folk lore song. Her vocal delivery exudes such elegance and emotion that it instantly hooks onto you as you go through the album. Dolly is queen, and she continues to slay these new girls decades into her career.
#11. Sia - Elastic Heart
I just find this song amazing. The production surprisingly works so well for Sia's vocal delivery. Maybe it's the rasp you hear in Sia's voice that makes me adore it, but this song is magic and definitely a highlight of the album.
Note: I know I have had trouble keeping up with several of your countdowns lately. Please post a link to it and I will go back to. A large part of this year was exploring my musical tastes by looking at other's and I love going through your countdowns.
♫ Sugar Rush's Best Album Tracks of 2014 ♫ #10 - #6
#10. Miranda Lambert - Smokin' and Drinkin' (Feat. Little Big Town)
A sultry anthem that takes us back to classic days when we'd drink and smoke out of leisure, and just the memories of everyone who contributed to these gatherings. Talks about falling in love, becoming best pals and dreaming forever.
9. Sara Evans - You Never Know
The song is interesting as it basically says there's nobody to blame when love dies out. The chorus sings that if you knew the love was falling apart you would have put up a fight for it and make sure it could last. Easily the highlight of Sara's new album that was released earlier this year.
#8. Taylor Swift - Style
Again, another pop masterpiece. I just love how simple this song is yet so extravagant at the same time. It's going to end up as timeless classic and a staple when she performs at concerts in the future.
#7. Azealia Banks - Soda
Sure Azealia's album is complete **** and she may be the most bitter and jealous hag I have ever seen in the industry that's desperate for success, but she did put out an incredible album and cannot be ignored for that. Soda is what I consider, R&B-Techno and just sounds different from a lot of stuff you hear on mainstream radio nowadays. I always love when artists take something completely random, such as "soda", and can make such an incredible piece of art around it.
#6. Ed Sheeran - I See Fire
Although this song was released prior to the release of the DVD, and is considered a single to the movie it is only a track to Ed Sheeran's X album. I love this song. It's haunting, and raw and captures the essence of the movies it was written for so very well. Ed is an incredible songwriter, and is on his way to becoming one of the best songwriters in history.
Elastic Heart! That's my favorite Sia song ever! She needs to release that song as a single, I don't care if it's from 2013
Don't know that Azealia Banks, need to check it out
