Lard, this song.... is TRASH! don't get me twisted. However... if you can withhold from shaking ya ASS when it comes on then you have some kind of power. The production is INSANE and the music video was amazing and was honestly this song's saving grace. I love the end when she starts going off on skinny bitches too. Not because she's going off on skinny bitches but because she's just going DUMB at that point. Mega bop.
"Black Widow" is a cute little jam but beyond that there isn't much to say. It's not extraordinary but it's definitely a hot, made-for-radio track. And what do you know, it smashed! The instrumental is definitely the highlight, a stunning trap-island fusion. Rita is whatever and Iggy does her thing. A better video would have elevated it more perhaps, but still a great song.
Ultimate summer ANTHEM! At first I wasn't really into "Break Free" a whole lot but it just keeps getting better with time for whatever reason. The production is immaculate, familiar but not generic and Ariana ha flawless vocals really help smash the beat out of the park. The song just flows so nicely and is so empowering. Another song that I probably could have put a little higher, but oh well. Thank you Ari for serving us a dance smasha when the rest of the pop girls moved away from that sound.
Pitbull always serving them bops so teaming up with the Queen of Pop was just BOUND to be a hot sang and well look, we got this amazing gem. I mean Pitbull is whatever and Ke$ha, the beat, and the sexy music video really carry the song but still. I also want to thank Pitbull for giving my Queen her final #1, how philanthropic of him. This is pretty much already forgotten but it's still flawless and my eternal knock.
Ok prior to my hearing this song, I always thot Becky G was such a corny thing so it wasn't really fair when she hit me with this HOT SMASH??! Like what kind of, amazing melody and flawless production? Don't get me started on the catchiness of "Laaa da deee laa da daaaa law da daaaaaaaaa"? But for real this song completely turned me on to Becky Gsus and her album is one of my most anticipated for 2015. This should have smashed harder but she still got her latin bop new single which will be featured next Best Of so stay tuned on that one.
I was a tad leery about this album prior to it's release since I only liked a few of Aiko's cuts from her debut EP "Sail Out" but I completely love this album. Jhené's light vocals float like a butterfly, while her provocative lyricism STINGS like a bee and captivates her listener. Her tone is so amazing, not like Rihanna's in sound but similar to her's in the sense that it's so eclectic and interesting. Most of the production on the album is airy and organic, which makes for a nice change a pace from the overproduced pop and hiphop music I typically listen to. Right from the beginning, with the amazing and enrapturing "Limbo Limbo Limbo", the quality of 'Souled Out' is attested for. My personal favorite on the album is "W.A.Y.S." which is literally one of the most flawless and life-delivering songs I've had the pleasure of listening to in the entirety of the year. My only complaint for the album is that some songs are a liddle boring and don't stand out much but that's a given for almost any album. If you love R&B obviously check this out, like duh, and even if you don't think you really love the genre still give this a spin, as the album is very easy on a pop fan's ears as well. Amazing debut that really made me love this girl.
I've never been one to be like "OMG I LOVE SELENA SLAY QUEEN (and I'm still not) but this song is a bit of a bap. I like that she kinda came out of nowhere and started slaying with a mid tempo like she did. Also it's ridiculously catchy, probably one of the most sing-a-long songs of the year. I can also appreciate how it doubles a bit as a gay anthem, thanks selegend
I kinda like Grimes ha music but only started LOVING ha when she dropped this trap MASTERPIECE! Omg drag me all you want since this is apparently her most mainstream song but When I first heard this godly slay I thought I was dead and this was the music jesus plays at the gates himself. I wish she made more music like this but I'm pretty sure she already confirmed she won't be, so shame on her she'll Go back to being irrelevant I guess.
This song is SO amazing. I still get goosebumps to this day while listening. I actually can't believe it's not bigger. But anyway, the video is obviously astounding and heart wrenching. Hozier's vocals are beyond flawless, and "Amennnnn" part SLAYS ME EVERYDAY! I'M DONE!
I have loved Paramore for a MINUTE and I'm not only super surprised that this became one of their biggest hits, but also really happy that it did. I wish "Still Into You" would have had it's success, but "Ain't It Fun" is still very cute and... fun. The music video is also great.
Shakira feat. Rihanna - "Can't Remember to Forget You"
Nnnnn I know a lot of people didn't like this song but i love her for some reason! I love how uptempo it is and Rihanna coming in to slay is just Also literally one of the hottest videos of the year. But yes this song is very addictive and I was happy with the outcome, I know many a stan were expecting more but hey.
