She's been in this business long enough that she should not have to pander herself to little kids anymore. But that is just my opinion and irrelevant at the end of the day.

Because according to ATRL if you are not sexualizing your image and you instead decide to make fun music videos to correlate with your similar personality than it it is considered "childish".
Whether she is catering to children or not, she has the most amount of #1 singles on the Adult Top 40 chart (she has nine, tied with P!nk, which is more than Gaga, Beyoncé, and even Adele have combined) and perhaps her most "childish" single Roar was #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart for over 3 months straight and is probably the biggest hit among adults of the decade. Additionally, she will be headlining the Super Bowl, whose main audience is adult men (the exact opposite of the demographic that ATRL user claims that she appeals and caters to). These receipts have been brought up numerous times yet everybody seems to ignore them and stick to their biased opinion that Katy is childish even though the statistics show that she has more adult appeal than any other main pop girl. Do they do this in order to undermine her success? Who knows. Regardless of ATRL popular opinion, adults clearly adore Katy Perry, as do children, so I don't feel that we need some 18 year old gay ATRL users to define what is childish and what is not.

Katy Perry is not childish.
Not releasing songs about sex, boring ballads or saying bitch 100 times doesn't mean she's childish, there's a difference between being childish and being fun and clearly the gp knows the difference.

Fergie, Jlo and Gwen act like women in their 20s. Adults.
Katy's music is catered to children. We just want Katy to be an adult.

Also, what's so kiddy about "Unconditionally", "The One That Got Away", "Birthday", "ET", "Waking Up In Vegas", "I Kissed A Girl", "Thinking of You", and "Hot N Cold"?
The fact of the matter is, Katy is being stereotyped by her "Teenage Dream" era look because it had too much impact that they are still living through that era. This just proves how successful and memorable Teenage Dream was no matter how hard they try to shrug off its success.

Honestly? People are just pressed Katy outsells their faves. In the end, her "children's" music is always enjoyed by adults too.

It's her imagery. She goes out on stage the majority of the time looking like one of The Doodlebops

I don't know if it's different for you folks in the US, but here in Australia, Katy is an act for everyone. Nobody here considers her a "child act" lol. Her songs are CONSTANTLY played on the radio, selected for adults to sing in talent competitions (Roar, Unconditionally, Dark Horse and Last Friday Night were selected on shows like X Factor and The Voice just off the top of my head) and Katy is definitely well liked and respected here (her tour sales are an indication of this).
Acts like One Direction and 5SOS are more successful with the young teen/pre-teen crowd, I guess. But not Katy. Nah, she's everyone's artist. It's pretty great. I feel kind of bad for the American Katy fans, tbh. IDK what it is. Perhaps it's because us Aussies are a lot less up-tight and more down to earth, and Katy's music is just fun and entertaining to listen to, I doubt you'd find one Aussie who doesn't know/like at least one Katy track.
