Most people believe the word "trick" has a negative connotation.

I don't think it was meant to be read that way. She seemed to imply that those tactics were a smart way to
garner attention, but she thinks it's disappointing that most good music goes unnoticed without such tactics.

I can see how the statement could be twisted to read otherwise, but this is Gaga and Bey we're talking about. Their mutual
respect for each other has stood the test of time and neither of them are particularly shady in the music business.
