Wait this video's actually making me quite like the song. It's laid back and fun... not the absolute SLAYAGE I wanted her to comeback with, but it's fun enough. Hope the rest of the album is better, but I like this pretty well.
Okay so.... while there were slightly cute moments, overall that video is one big mess.
If you're going to do a clichéd concept, the lead actress better be able to breath life into it's staleness. Unfortunately she went for over-exaggerated expressions and other Lizzie Macguire-isms that are both clunky and forced. That, mixed with the awkward product placement and the cheesy effects (moving postcards, ripple fade-outs), the general aesthetic and the fact that this song is really nothing special results in a very underwhelming return to music.
I would have loved to see her return in more of an impactful way instead of making everything so basic.
