if she doesn't even produce or write her music, then yes. I consider that a person who wants to be an artist needs to at least write his/her own stuffs. If not it's just a good singer, performer, or icon.
However in POP music it's common to search for the right producers, songwriters to have a hit single/album. For example Taylor Swift is an artist, great, good, bad, horrible, it's up to you, but at least she tries to do her own thing.
