Y'all are so ignorant and part of the problem and stigma against depression. When you say "But you're famous and wealthy!" its like being upset at someone whose leg is broken saying "You shouldn't be in pain and crying, all the rest of you is in one piece!".

Does it make you mad because she has money, fame, power & she's still not happy? That's not the way it's supposed to work, right? Maybe being a celebrity & living that lifestyle isn't gratifying to some people, especially after they've had a taste of it.
I think Lana probably has a lot of psychological **** to work through due to her early years, but from what we've seen from before she even became famous, she's always been an eccentric, sensitive & creative person. I'm sure she's grateful for her fans' support.
Depression is real, you know. It's not just that feeling you twinks get when you run out of lube in the bathroom at ARTRAVE. Let the girl live.

While this is indeed sad, the faux outrage makes me laugh as we all know 90% of the people going "omg how insensitive" would be on the other side if it was an artiste they didn't like saying this

Exactly. This revelation shouldn't be surprising anyway. Lana recently was asked what she wanted to do in life and she said that she wanted to tour but now that she's done it, it just isn't what she thought it was going to be like.

You're right Depression doesnt mean not having the things you want, and money and materialistic things do not always necessarily cure or help depresson but I think Lana is aware of that. It seems as if shes aware she is unhappy or uncontent, I hope she finds happiness and more light in her life and seems more uplifted
it can also just be a bad time for her or a cycle, who knows Like someone mentioned its not the same for all ppl, I hope the best for her

The nasty responses in this thread saying **** like "she's so annoying" "I hate people like this" etc. ****ing piss me off. Literally depression isn't controllable and it's ****ing horrible to deal with and I can't imagine how she feels being under a microscope and having her every move criticized, especially by people like you guys. Idk how some of you can say this ****. ATRL ****ing amazes me with how horrible the people here are and it just keeps getting worse. You guys are making light of such a sweet innocent person saying that she wants to die. Jesus ****ing christ.

This is definitely something I wish more people would be aware of. Your experience with depression is not going to be the same as someone else's. It's just not. It's a very complex disorder with a vast array of symptoms, causes, and types, and varies greatly from person to person in terms of severity as well, and as such, manifests itself quite differently from person to person. Just because you've dealt with depression doesn't mean you're an expert on what it's like for another person with it and it certainly doesn't give you any sort of authority to judge someone else for how the disease makes them feel.

We gotta see things from her perspective. She leads a way different lifestyle than us. Her life might be glamorous and full of wealth, but her outlook on life isn't really that much different than ours. In the end, we all live and die. Her life seems like it's on a greater scale compared to the rest of us normal people, but she sees it just as minuscule like we all do with our own lives. She's not a god. She's not better than everyone else.
She's a human being. Since she's a superstar, people just put her on a pedestal and judge her on a different standard. That's not fair to do. She has the right to be depressed. Her job might be also super stressful than anything we can all comprehend. Being a singer isn't just about walking on stage and performing. It's a very busy, busy, busy, busy lifestyle. She probably doesn't even get 1-2 hours to herself. I mean who knows, maybe she has had life problem pre-dispositions prior to being famous. It could be a number of things psychologically.
Cut her some slack. You wouldn't want someone up your butt 24/7 when you've worked a 48 hour-shift day, would you?

Also, no shade, but what bad things have happened to her in her life? I don't know much of her history aside from he controversy about her dad being wealthy..
|
Well she used to be an alcoholic when she was like 14 and her parents sent her away in order to get clean instead of being by her side. That alone might be the root of multiple psychological problems.

But:
Quote:
Do what? Make music?
"Everything. That's just how I feel. If it wasn't that way, then I wouldn't say it. I would be scared if I knew [death] was coming, but …"
[...] it takes me by surprise when Del Rey begins to tell me how unhappy she is: that she doesn't enjoy being a pop star, that she feels constantly targeted by critics, that she doesn't want to be alive at all.
"Family members will come on the road with me and say: 'Wow, your life is just like a movie!'" she says at one point. "And I'm like: 'Yeah, a really ****ed-up movie.'"
[...] I ask how long she got to enjoy the success of Video Games before the backlash arrived and she looks surprised. "I never felt any of the enjoyment," she says. "It was all bad, all of it."
|
Then stop making music, and get help.
