It's just sad, really. Like, legitimately depressing. Why would you dedicate time to make a post about something that isn't true, just because you dislike an artist on the basis of the music they release. Like... ugh.
Katy Perry is the current Queen of Pop and y'all will deal. None of those complaining would have a problem if it was their fave instead of Katy written about in the article.

Hey guys, remember when touring and selling albums used to be requirements on these peoples' lists until Katy got good at it and others got worse at it? Now suddenly things like that + social media presence no longer matter now that their fave isn't doing it.

This, except some of her song choices aren't even good. The truth is, she uses modern producers who watch the charts and follow trends to produce safe, surefire hit material.

But Katy isn't good at touring or selling albums, it's just that she's beating current flop artists (such as Gaga).

Why don't you shut up? I said that she has varely evolved, and your examples prove that. Yes, those songs sound different from one another, but her overall sound has barely evolved.

Prismatic tour is selling out and her album sales are great actually, especially in this day and age. She's looking at soon two 2x platinum albums in a row in the US alone, her sales WW are strong as well.

The pressed have arrived. I'll never understand why people think just because a song that is released smashes, it was a safe song choice. So a flop would be a risky song choice even if it was clearly designed for radio?

I think Gaga adapts to new music trends, however the problem with Gaga is she's always the first one to do new things, hence why people people don't understand her.

Meh, GUY sounds like it came straight off TFM imo. Most major artists have a sound that is distinctively theirs, so they'll be very successful for a while. Katy has experimented with lots of different kinds, Roar to Uncle to Dark Horse to Birthday is a really diverse single collection for one album.

She hasn't evolved, maybe even regressed from OOTB. Remember when Prism was supposed to be her dark era?

People on this site can continue to be bitter while Katy slays their fave and has more public support than their fave.

Personally I hate bubblegum Katy and I prefer her more edgy/rock side like I Kissed a Girl / Circle the Drain / etc....which is probably why I hate PRISM, but I do applaud her for trying SOME new things, even though its probably not her choice.

I don't really see any evolution. She's still wearing wigs & catering to a much younger audience just like she was during the TD era.

Pretty much.
ATRL logic:
"Unconditionally flopped because it was a power ballad. It's not typical Katy."
However, If it smashed:
"Unconditionally is just a generic ballad made to smash. Typical Katy."
