So you make the point that album sales are far less than what they were pre-digital era.
But conveniently fail to point out that concert grosses are far higher now than what they were back in the 80s & 90s....

Gaga at her peak was the best selling albums artist, the best selling singles artist, the most streamed artist, the most viewed artist, massive touring artist right off the bat, the most followed artist on facebook and twitter, total domination. The others haven't done it. I regret voting for Madonna tbh

I genuinely love Britney (I own most of her albums) and I also enjoy quite a few of Gaga's songs... Now no-one is taking away from their achievements (which are GREAT), but the only reason so many people are voting for them is because they weren't around to witness Madonna's world dominating reign!!! Unlike with recent pop stars, her initial PEAK lasted 8 years from 1984 to 1992!!! Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion AND Janet Jackson also had HUGE periods of success that endured for several albums...

this is alltime chart, this means that it include the both digital and physical sales. funny how you said that The Fame is #2, only behind 21 in the era of digital sales but 21 is ranking at #34 on alltime chart meanwhile The Fame doesn't make into the chart, ur excuse is nonsense. plus reason why people don't care buying music anymore because streaming is dominating but lady gaga's never ranked in top 5 streamed artist charst either

- Gaga is a global act, and she has 5 songs make the IFPI year-end top 10 (the most out of any artist) which is far more prestigious than a local #1
- US radio at the time obviously changed partly because of Gaga. And you just need to look at how pop girls dressed during her peak to see her influence
gaga had 5 songs make the IFPI year-end top 10 (the most out of any artist) wow ! but how about 2012, 2013 and alltime chart ? where has she been ? i don't consider it as peak
and lol gaga influenced no one to dress weirdly

1. Just look it up yourself. According to mediatraffic you love to use The Fame was in the top 2 year-end best selling albums of 2009 and 2010 (#1 in 2010) and Born This Way was in the top 2 best selling albums of 2011. None of her peers have done it once, let alone three times in a row
2. Nielsen BDS: Top 10 Artists - Streams
1 Lady Gaga 135,606,000
3. During her peak (which this thread is about), she was the most viewed artist and she was. Gaga was the first artist to reach 1 billion views

1. i asked you how about the 0.99$ thing that made a part of BTW's success. and let me make it clear for you. you drive this topic going too far with these two of gaga's albums, being ranked at #1or #2 on year end chart doesn't make you more succesful than other legends like Madonna, whitney, Mariah and even britney [at her peak] that people was dissusing on. does she has any album that enter the all time chart ? no, sadly true, lady gaga has nothing deserve to be compared in the thread like this.
2. we are talking about worldwide, dahling
3. youtube views as many other kind of ranking is estimated by the end of year, not who reachs bil views first, the view of video rise every sencond, everyone could say " of he reachd 1,5 bil views, she reach 2,3 bil views......" the view rise every sencond. the view is only estimated by a limit of time like year, month or decade.
lady gaga vevo view was estimated by the end of 2011 was about 1,963,620,513 came close by Rihanna while, justin bieber view was about 2,174,075,321

For the 238743687262th time, albums sales market when the other girls in this poll peaked where three times as big as when Gaga peaked. Why don't you understand that?
Year-end position means a lot, it reflects how successful her albums were compared to other albums released at the same time. Again, you cannot just compare sales 1:1 because of how much sales have decreased in general. A #1/#2 year-end album in the 80s/90s/early 00s would obviously sell way more than a #1/#2 year-end album in the digital era because of the current album sales market, not because those 80s/90s/00s albums were bigger
There's a reason the only albums on that alltime charts are all from before the digital era

Adele disagrees
this is alltime chart, this means that it include the both digital and physical sales. funny how you said that The Fame is #2, only behind 21 in the era of digital sales but 21 is capably ranking at #34 on alltime chart meanwhile The Fame doesn't make into the chart, ur excuse is nonsense.
the reason why people don't care buying music anymore because streaming is dominating so we will talking about her success in term of streaming but even in that term lady gaga's never ranked #1 most WW streamed artist either

I said The Fame was the second biggest album of the digital era which it is Why would you use the alltime chart when you're talking about the digital era
And the fact that Adele is literally the only new album that made that list says it all
By your logic, I guess Born This Way (song) is a bigger hit than any Madonna song. I mean it has sold 9+ million copies, more than any Madonna song. (And before you use that alltime songs chart from mediatraffic, that chart uses a point system, not actual sales)
Good to know

YouTube peaked in the 80's hun, that's why it's not fair to compare Janet's and Madonna's monstrous video views to these current girls.

because we only use best selling albums o all time chart in this thread and because that's ALL TIME chart so digital or physical are all included. Adele can , lady gaga can't. that's all i know
and 9mil copies WW ? receipt ? don't give me that invalid billboard source
oh hey ! Madonna GMAYL sold 200mil copies ww

OP why did you mix generations in this poll? you know a lot of members here think a music industry didn't exist before 1999
