Madonna is way more succssefull and has a HUGE carrear but honestly I need to vote for Britney cause I'm 17 and Madonna wasn't for my age and I was a Britney fan years ago before I discover Avril Lavigne in 2002 so I was a Britney fan in 99,00 and 01 in 04 I was a HUGE Avril fan but I also kind of like Britney with ITZ I buy her record too

soo I chose Britney because I was one his fans but Madonna is Madonna and she's way more succssefull.

Britney will probably NEVER reach Madonna's sales, but that's mostly because album sales are DEAD nowadays. However, something has to be mentioned: no Madonna album sold as much as Britney's biggest one, '...Baby One More Time', and that will also NEVER change.

Don't be stupid. You are talking worldwide. Shania has sold 80 million cd's worldwide with only 4 albums which blows away any artist on your list of sales per album..
And if you are talking since 1998 then Shania's COO which was released in 1997 still sold a massive amount of cd's in 1998 and beyond. Also her Up cd sold 12 million worldwide counted as one. UP is only counted as 2 in the States and it sold 5.7 million in the States counted as one and 12 million worldwide counted as one. Her GH cd sold 7 million worldwide in 2004.

But check this out, Shania's COME ON OVER album has sold 40 million worldwide alone which is more than the career totals of 95% of the people on your list lol!!!!

And im only doing the past 10 years, doing people's entire careers would take forever. Plus it would be too hard finding the sales of older albums between these years..
