Well, I've never been to one, but from what I've seen in the media and online, it just seems like a bunch of lustful gay men walking around half-naked, acting inappropriately. And the majority of people who know of gay pride parades probably view it the same way, because they've never been to them either. So even if the parades are more reserved than they're made out to be, most people do not know this. It simply has a negative impact on people's views of the community more so than it should.

Wow, it's almost like the media cherry-picked certain images to paint the entire gay rights movement as about degenerate sexual activity.
It's almost like sensational images draw more page views and interest than everyday images of religious groups/employers marching in a parade.
Sorry, your ignorance is no one's fault but your own. Gay pride parades aren't like what you imagine them to be like. Stop trying to justify talking about something you know nothing about. And stop trying to say they have a "negative impact." The ENTIRE GAY RIGHTS MOVEMENT goes back to those parades. The fact that you are able to be out and open about your sexuality today and not have it be a big deal is BECAUSE of those parades. You don't get to ignore history because you don't like it. You don't get to sit there and talk about them having a "negative impact" while you reap all the rewards that generations before you fought and died for in those parades
