And what I was saying, it didnt become popular, and a necessity to sell records until AFTER HILARY.

^i edited my post so you´d be able to understand
and Hilary is no messiah, no one here knows about her and i have heard like two songs of her, she initially sold alot of records because she was a popular kiddo-star from a disney-show (so they say) at the time albums were sold at a normal rate....at her latest album she did something on her own, and flopped HARD, cause the kiddos like miley cyrus now.

What? Almost everyone here knows Hilary Duff. Anyone who doesnt needs to end their life immediately, its like not knowing who Paris Hilton is. And no, just because she was on Lizzie McGuire is not the reason her albums sold well. Her debut album didnt even debut nor get to the Top 100 on Billboard, her second album was #1 and her third #2, her fourth #1 for TWO weeks, and her most recent and fifth album #3 debut, highest debut sales for that week and has since sold nearly 900,000 copies. thats not flopping whatsoever. Plus, she had two successful singles from this album. Yes, her younger fanbased downgraded to Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, but that just means she has an older base now. Which, if you ask me, is worth taking away a few record sales, because she can continue growing as an artist.
And regarding your JLO argument, no, the poster did not state anything about other artists.

LMAO when I said strated I meant J.Lo started b4 Hilary but I never said she STARTED that trend.
In fact I have NO damn clue who started the trend but it sure was not Hilary Duff.
I like Hilary but lets face it, Hil hasn't contributed anything of importance to the music insdustry to say she helped shaped it.

Theres nothing to agree on when its a FACT.
J.Lo started her music career in 1999 Hilary started in 2002.

Okay so, what im saying is, The concept of the actress turned singer concept didnt become popular and a necessity for the selling of records for beginning artists until after Hilary Duff perfected the concept and became successful as a result of this. Soon later, artists like Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Miley Cyrus, Cheyenne Kimball, and many other followed the trend. At least three or four of these type of singers come out every year, after Hilary Duff did.

Hilary Duff perfected nothing. Disney did. If I was their artist at the time, it would have worked. (that might be taking it too far but you get the point )
