I don't believe people should have to hide their sexuality in their everyday lives, no. But have some self awareness and assess the realities of your environment for God's sake. You have to choose your battles and there is no use in pushing the envelope in the way that they do because they know it will only bring them harm. I'm not saying the conditions they live under are wrong or right, but you can't just ignore it and have it your way because that's not how the world works.

Horrible. Just horrible. I can't believe Putin is letting this happen. WHY does he not understand that gays are people too? WHY did he release the statement that "gays will be safe at the Olympics as long as they don't harm little children?" It's just so tragic how Russia is now; I don't think it'll change anytime soon, either. I can't believe people are actually letting such violence happen.

We NEED Russia to be reminded of the Holocaust because this is starting to mirror German society pre-Holocaust. Once Putin's out of office and an STRONG anti-gay president is "elected," things will follow the same path. But what about that cliche phrase that we can't let history repeat itself? The excuse is that homosexuality isn't normal. But 80 years ago, Jewish people weren't considered normal, either.

I did, I mean I woke up one day and decided to worship **** even though I'm 100% straight and love the V, I mean I definitely chose and am putting up with all this homophobia in life because it's the lifestyle I chose.
