I agree. I find it to be silly and it seems like just a marketing tool so they can talk about the album being "their most personal yet" and how they've "changed so much" and whatnot. I've said how I dislike this naming scheme at just about every recent self-titled album.
However, I do not find Beyoncé's use of it to have any of these connotations. I was disappointed that it was self-titled until I realized that any other title would not have really made sense. The whole strength of Beyonce's surprise release was that "BEYONCE HAS A NEW ALBUM OUT!" The name mattered little considering there was no hype or promotion for it, so a broad theme or album concept wasn't necessary. It was, as a visual album, it's own entity and the simplicity only managed to put more emphasis on the album itself.
I'm excited but at the same time I hope it doesn't disappoint me as much as CRTFY did. I love Shakira to death and have loved all of her albums so far (except Sale el Sol) and I hope the trend continues. 2 years is a long time to be working on an album, so let's hope it's perfection.
I am sometimes extremely sensitive, sometimes upbeat, others dreamy and romantic, and even at times a little melodramatic. (Call it the Caribbean blood.) But always authentic and always sincere.
I can't wait for this album. CRTFY is horrendous, but I expected that with a Rihanna feature. The artwork has been amazing so far and I can't wait to see what else comes out of this release.

alsdkal;sdk @ Everyone CLINGING to put their fave as the reason for these self-titled albums when none of our faves' parents were even alive when the original self-titled albums came out
