I stated my opinion, and thats that, My logic is as it is. Thats your opinion, and this is mine. Obviously Gaga's career is in a fault, I never stated otherwise, did I? All i said was that she will be remembered. But, K.

I stan for the voice of this generation, a 5-time Grammy award winner. That's something 5 of the 6 people in your sig aren't even close to, so let's not go there.[/B]
Christina is currently recording her new album and unlike most people's faves, she doesn't just get demos sent to her, record her vocals and wait for her manager to tweet she has a new single out. She writes and produces. So yes, until she serves us new music, I'm perfectly happy with a top 5 smash hit duet and plenty of positive media buzz often translating to headlines. That's a privillege only fans of artists with staying power enjoy.

Then you unfortunately stan just for the past.

Not when the only artist in your sig whose success can back up your attitude is Mariah. No. Just no. Simply no
By the way, I don't see how I'm stanning for the past. Her last Grammy's nomination was in 2012 and she could easily get nominated next year for 'SS', her voice is still here and so is she. The latter is a point that all my posts have consistently pointed out, yet I'm still waiting for you to come up with a response that actually diminishes it (without backfiring in any of your faves of course)

Gaga will be remembered, I will give Monsters that, but for what exactly? When Gaga is mentioned do people ever bring up her songs? No.
When she is mentioned to people other than the queens here on ATRL, this is usually what is talked about.
1. How much they hate her
2. How weird she is
3. How much of a mess her fashion is
4. How bad her music is
5. "Who?"
So let's unclog our brains little monsters and take a look at the bigger picture.
1. Both are 5 years into their career. Katy is loved and selling more than ever, while Gaga has drastically declined and is selling less than ever.
2. Katy has improved sales-wise every era. Gaga has declined sales wise every era.
3. Katy just had her biggest radio hit. The result? Selling 4.4 million copies in America alone. Gaga just had her biggest radio hit according to her lil monsters. The result? A disappointing 2x platinum LEAD single from the supposed "biggest pop star in the world."
4. Katy has public approval and support. Gaga is dealing with public abandonment.
5. Gaga's fanbase is 10x bigger than Katy's, YET Katy is still outselling her in terms of singles AND albums. That's pretty sad.
6. Gaga has a 6x platinum single, and a 7x platinum single from her first era. She was huge, sadly her second era didn't even manage to score a 4x platinum hit as Born This Way stalled at 3.9 million. Still not disastrous though. Her follow up effort was, however, seeing as this era can't even manage to score a top 3 hit or get a 3x platinum single.
Meanwhile Katy has a a 5x platinum single from her first era and a 4x platinum from her first era. Pretty impressive, but obviously lacking behind Gaga. Luckily her second era managed one 6x platinum single, two 5x platinum singles, and a 4x platinum single. Pretty impressive right? Everyone expected her to decline, but she proved them wrong by coming back with Roar (her soon to be 5x platinum single) and after the little speed bump of Unconditionally, Dark Horse is ready to dominate America and go on to also be one of her biggest hits.
So take a look at the facts. One has increased relevance and sales every era, and one have sharply declined every era. Stop lying to yourselves and come to accept the reality that Gaga will have a short lived career. She's to obsessed with herself and pleasing her rabid fanbase.
Stop clinging to her The Fame era, and start looking at her most recent era(s). It's going to soon be 2020 and monsters will be bragging about her Fame sales.
I hope everyone has a good day!

Meanwhile ignoring Katy's subtle transition into more adult records like TOTGA, WA and even DH. But then again, monsters don't get subtlety. Neither does their mother monster. Hence, the public has tuned out and will continue to, in droves. See a great song like DWUW underperform as it's doing for exhibit A.
|
I admit, DWUW is a bop, but I'd never spend my coins on Gaga and give her obnoxious fans any bragging rights.
This is what Monsters don't get, Gaga's image is already bad and all they do is make is worse. No one wants to support gaga and definitely no one wants to give Monsters anything to brag about, so the result? No one buys her music. Yes applause sold 2 million, but that's in line with Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Ariana Grande's lead singles. For a pop girl that's tragic.
If they took a slice of humble pie, I wouldn't always be so hard on Gaga, but nope. They insist on attacking anyone and everything that is considered "competition" to Gaga.
But hey it's not my problem, it's gaga's and if she doesn't want to put her fans in check she can keep declining every era.

Why do you come for Mariah ? I have never stated she is still relevant in today´s music. Lord. Not even to mention that Mariah made actually successful comeback with Emancipation, thats something Xtina is trying and still failing with her last 2 albums. Are you able of self-reflection ?

Wait, were you actually in my country to know? Roar was barely played here. So was Applause to be clear. Also, I wouldn't say Roar was a gigantic worldwide smash.
And no, in my opinion, Katy Perry is not miles bigger than Lady Gaga, not in my country, nor in the rest of Europe. But I'm sure people all around the world would have different opinions about that one (as the poll results suggests), can't we leave it at that?

I'm not coming for Mariah. I used to stan for her. I'm coming for you. You can't blame me for stanning for the past when the ONLY artist in your sig who can rival my fave's success and longetivity is Mariah whose last top 5 hit was in 2008, yet my fave's last top 5 hit was on Thursday.
Xtina has only failed to make a comeback once, in 2012. 'Bionic' wasn't a comeback. Even in her failed comeback however, she got 2 gold singles and one VEVO-certified video.

Lets not be delusional. Im your country neighbour and Gaga stopped being big here after Bad Romance (or even Poker Face). Katy is on radio way more than Gaga. Its just a fake ilusion that Gaga is on everyone´s mind outside pop forums.

not the swift vote comeback though! Showing signs of longevity after all. Hopefully the album will follow the same trajectory as these poll results.

Notice how when you're not being obnoxious and using pointless gifs, you seem more sensible as a person.
The reason I replied the way I did is because on the first few pages you were implying Gaga's MUSIC will be more remembered and relevant in the future. You also implied people would aspire to be like gaga and not like Katy but where is the logic in that?
Who would aspire to be someone loved by the public for two years before spirling towards irrelevancy? No one.
This is why Gaga is where she is. You guys aren't looking at things logically so neither is she because her head is full of the nonsensical praises you guys give her. Instead of looking at where she is after 5 years and telling her to get her **** together, you're here saying she'll outlast Katy, she'll always be iconic and remembered, etc.
You guys are causing your own popstars downfall by inflating her ego and making her think she's doing right. I have no problem with it honestly because my days of stanning gaga are over. But honestly I don't WANT to see anyone fail. I'd be more than happy if her career took off again, but the ONLY way I would support her is if she ditched her vicious fanbase and went back to her personality before BTW.
She needs to stop catering to the malicious monsters, and start catering to the ones who want the best for her.

I stan for old Mariah ( Emancipation and before), I have no problems to admit it. My most other faves dont make typical pop for radio, ofc they wont be so big. And I dont care, I dont need them to be in headlines. I care about their music which they deliver unlike Xtina.
