We're now into the territory of where every song I list is the best song I've ever heard whilst I'm listening to it so the rankings are essentially meaningless.
35. Stylo G - Soundbwoy
So massive. Dancehall banger with pop sensibilities.
34. Ariana Grande feat. Mac Miller - The Way
Such a fun throwback jam! From Mac Miller's dopey rap to "I got it bad, boy I must admit it - heyyyyy!"
33. Loadstar - Refuse To Love
Light, beautiful hook over a hard, grimy drum and bass beat. Also the guy on the left is kind of really cute!
32. Selena Gomez - Come And Get It
A Rihanna cast-off, yet better than anything she's done since 2009? Hooks on top of hooks.
31. Passion Pit - Carried Away (Dillon Francis Remix)
Best song SNSD never made!
30. Charli XCX - Take My Hand
WHY YOU GOTTA GO TO SLEEP? DON'T GO TO SLEEP! DON'T GO TO SLEEP! LET'S GO OUUUUUUT. I SWALLOWED SOMETHING STUPID / IT'S MAKING ME STAY AWAKE. I am getting seriously emotional at how amazing this song is and any explanation won't do it justice but this song is so stunning and romantic and real and omfg.
29. Ashley Monroe - You Got Me
Instant classic. How am I living in a world where this didn't even chart on US country?
28. Cimorelli - The Way We Live
Ecstasy in musical form. The slayage is REAL. This year's "Call Me Maybe" except with a cheaper budget and a lack of any sort of cultural relevance.
27. Gunplay - Drop Da Tint
Every line is endlessly quotable. YA C*NTS CAN'T STOP ME AND MY RUTHLESS WAYS.

LEFT EVERYBODY ON THE FLOOR WHEN I LEFT THERE.

I JUST SKIED A SLOPE / IT AIN'T WINTER OR DECEMBER.

F*CK YOUR RELEASE DATE

I'M PISSIN' ON PEASE TREATIES

I BRUNG MY GUN AND A BLUNT FOR MY LUNG AND A CUP FOR MY RUM AND A
STICK FOR MY DRUM.
26. Tom Zanetti feat. Ko Kane and Lorenzo - Darlin'
You like it when I'm deep insiiiiiiiide. This track is so twisted and sexual it belongs on
Blackout.
25. Avril Lavigne - Rock N Roll
Pop bliss and not even Chad Kroeger's writing credit can change that.
24. Ciara - Wake Up, No Make Up
As with her last album, the best song of the era is left off of it entirely ("Blauw"; and the era before that the best song - "Echo" - was relegated to bonus track status. I can’t help you if you can’t help yourself, Ci). Frantic, paranoid, dark, demented talk-rapping over twinkling synths. Oh and the small matter of there being a GOTHIC CHOIR.
23. Cody Simpson - Better Be Mine
This year's "As Long As You Love Me" but without the woeful rap. Yet it was a bonus track on his flop EP thing? IDGI? Such a stadium ANTHEM.
22. Keith Urban - Come Back To Me
Most impressive lyrics of 2013 maybe? Utterly heart-wrenching. Brandy Clark/Shane McAnally their GENIUS.

Dark, minimalist production with just a hint of a sombre guitar tone + lyrics like "And if you're feelin' too safe here beside me / And you wanna do something you might regret / Try the whole world on if you feel the need / then come back to me" and "I wanna hold you but I don't wanna hold you back" = my jaw is on the floor every time I listen.
21. Gavin DeGraw - Who's Gonna Save Us
Epic, soaring, dark (I need to stop using this douchey adjective but I can't) ballad. "Everyone I ever had / Was just the means to an end" is kind of jaw-dropping. There's an ominous-sounding synth or something that swirls around the chorus, buried deep in the mix that is so effective as well. And I love when songs give you something extra other than verse/chorus/bridge. The "Should we stop? Should we wait? Before it's too late?" addition in the last chorus sends this song over the edge. So generous and so good.
