Tegan and Sara, The National. I really liked Franz Ferdinand comeback, they're great. I was expecting more from KOL but their album is great. Great set

Feedback Section:
nineteen-Thanks and the tally thing maybe. I do hope that I like T&S's past albums, hope that you like MS MR when you get the chance, good take on PATD's direction and the part about Brendon's vocals. Nice sediment on the right moment to listen and enjoy Foals’ music, which I agree. The best about FOB's music to just enjoy and have fun with it. A nice isolated place would nice to take in the Tame Impala music, which is their sound feels like. Agree that The National's lead singer does have such a sadness in his voice. I can really tell it from listening it. I agree about getting a Grammy also for their works thus far. Good descriptions on FF & KOL more so than I did. Great comment and I do appreciate the time you also give in for yours.
Sunderland 4ever-esp. Tame right?
Ghostlysnaker-I'm ready for Native and other albums on my radar. Don't know/don't like Tegan and Sara, Device, and MS MR?
Nimrod.-KOL's last album was a remarkable one.
Dj.-good set of bands that you like notably you love The National.
Brandon-Also have a good taste in bands and thanks.
potentbreakupsong-Agree on that The Lums and OMAM didn't not deserved their one-hit wonder status and are beyond that like the two respective songs of theirs you listed and really? Nice smiley reaction to that. Should I count that too?
Rem-Nice four bands that you found amazing.
AshleeSimpsonFan- Some good comments and it's fine that it's this short. Still say a lot. Heard of MS MR last year and then this year I got into the most. Nice comment on FF and KOL.
ColdKeane-Thanks and nice set of bands that you found best for yourself in 2013.
gotintoririfever1- Yup! Native, here I come.

Top 40 Bands: Part 2 [20-1]
20 The Mowgli's
Let’s start part 2 with this new eight piece alternative rock band from SoCal. These guys apparently been active since 2010, but it’s the first thing we heard anything from them this year. These guys seem to like to make some nice and homed sound of Alt. Rock with pop influences going the way of Grouplove with some kind of folk tunes similar to The Lumineers. It’s a safe to say that there are a more entertaining and watered down version of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero that you either like or find annoyed by. The Mowgli's music just makes life a bit more happier and also to have fun especially in a more nature sort of way. Even when they have less happier songs, they still have their cheerful chants to even bring a sadder situation a more lighter one. Also like the vocals between the male and female (either together or separate ) as well as the whole group sings along to the choruses of the song in addition to some build-up towards it. There are a nice band to check out and they have a hit song about the great San Francisco and for some reason basically have all their songs from their album in their VEVO channel. It’s good since I heard some of their songs and now I’m telling the good stuff out of it. A band to get into if you like this sort of stuff.
19 Fitz & The Tantrums
Let me listen to all of their songs in their new album via their own You-Tube channel; full of those official audio with that pink heart light in different backgrounds. I already know Out of my League, The Walker, Sparks and 6 AM slay already. Why did I forget about Sparks? That’s FIFA music right there. Anyway I know that this 2008 formed neo soul/indie pop LA band came out in 2010, but I pay more attention in 2011 and enjoyed their entertaining and funky eclectic indie pop sound. They retuned this year to make music more than just a dream. They made it into life with such soothing vocals either from the male or the female with such wonderful indie pop with some indie rock sound in a couple ones. Liked that they have some soul influences as well. Finished with their album and it’s amazing that has me going with their music found there. These guys did a good job making tier sound standout and more enjoyable than ever and it speaks some kind of unique volume. The heart is their most used friend.
18 CHVRCHES
This next band really killed me with their very amazing sound that creates such an atmosphere that I cannot recover and must sink into. Hailing from Glasgow, this 2011 formed Scottish synthpop band released their great debut album that have my bones chilling because it cannot take in all the great sh!t that I heard from it. These guys came fifth on the BBC's Sound of 2013 list of the most promising new music talent and I haven’t check that list out, but top 5 is not bad at all. I’m all impressed with their electro indie pop and synthpop sounds and can’t wait for more of these guys and let’s see if they get some success in 2014. Oh yeah, the wondrous singer Laruen Mayberry does look lonely and her vocals speaks such volume that it’s too good for words.
17 fun.
These guys had a great last year with two great and makes hit songs and now they continue to have some more success with another hit song, Grammies wins, and their songs still are fun to listen to. Nate and his band had another year to be proud of.
16 30 Seconds to Mars
This band always makes creative videos that can be passed as short films. Most credit goes to Jared Leto for having such a creative mind. I really liked their album this year and such a blast listening to each song and the way they made so well and inspiring. Sure that their sound now aren’t as most enjoyable than their past works, but I still made most of it and ending up enjoying it as I can. Good job to this band.
15 Atlas Genius
Australian alt.rock band Atlas Genius were discovered last year and this year as a new emerging band, they have released their album and have some type of success with some of their singles notably If So and Trojans. Also they have a remixed album continue remixes of their album. I have not heard of the remixes yet. Overall, I enjoy their sound on their album. It’s has a nice feel that I can just listen along to or just enjoy the music period. Here’s for more success for these guys next year. It’s another band that have siblings, which vocalist and guitarist Keith Jeffery and drummer Michael Jeffery.
14 Bastille
Seriously, I don’t think I can count the amount of UK bands in both hands that have made 2013 a really good year in music even if I just count the new ones. Here is another UK band in Bastille. Hailing from London, these guys delivered an album that it is just pure amazing with catchy beats, wondrous choruses, and solid sound. All of their singles are all good along with some interesting videos. Pompeii is their successful single so far and in 2014, let’s see if they can get some more success. Fun fact that this band started as a solo project by singer-songwriter Dan Smith and later on, he added members to form a band. Also the word Bastille could mean a lot of things like an old Paris fortress known as the Bastille Saint-Antoine.
13 The Band Perry
Making country music not as boring or annoying this year is The Band Perry. Known for their hit song If I Die Young, the sibling band are back with more inspiring music. I haven’t heard the new album, but based on their three singles alone should have me go hear it. Basically, they make some good old music that is either heartwarming or has passion and flare in them. It’s all good.
12 Linkin Park
My favorite band decide to make a remix album ,which consists of remixed Living Things songs and a new song along a remix for that song as well. Overall it was a pleasant experience to listen those songs. Of course, I liked the new song, which does have a good and right amount of electronic and rock in the mix. They are at a stage where they can do whatever they want and try new things. Can’t wait for their next studio album.
11 Twenty One Pilots
Another new band that has impressed me are Twenty One Pilots. This duo really makes some fun and catchy music with shouting vocals with some rapping in there to go along with the catchy beat and sound. Also they have some entertaining videos. Another band to know and you can check their label’s You-Tube channel to see audio streams of their album.
10 Vampire Weekend
This band know how to make captivating music that just takes you on an adventurous journey into yourselves as well as having such catchy tune for the fun of it. Finally got the chance to listen to their new album and it’s really good. Their sounds continues to bring me to that place of an old video game or some old sorta over the top storybook. Plus their sound just progress well as evident in the album. Great band that has been winning me over since I heard of them back in 07.
9 Capital Cities
They are one hit wonders so don’t expect some more success from them in 14. Regardless, they make some good mix of music to just dance and listening along. Their videos are very entertaining and unorthodox. They make some good work of the indie pop sound and create it in a few ways. Enjoyed them this year and their 2011 song smashing hard in the 2013.
8 Haim
These three young women from SoCal has been on a roll this year as new and emerging artists. Each of the siblings have their own style and personality, but together makes some great music. Each of them play their part of the band very well not to mention that they are so good-looking. They tell like it is in their music based on how the vocals are sung like and the mood of the music. They make some well-crafted indie pop songs. Their music speak for itself and have good meanings in the lyrics. Their album is just a pleasant music experience to have from it. They put their rock influences to solid use. All hail HAIM! 2014 will be their most successful year.
7 Arctic Monkeys
Glad that these guys are back with new music last and this year. What I enjoyed the most are their initials self-titled album, the videos and the singles. Their album created such a setting to wonder in and get lost into without knowing how and why? I just listening to the album. The two 2013 singles kept me interested in them Do I Wanna Know is such a great, ominous and slow-pace song and their high song is just damn catchy and don‘t get me started on the videos. Great job this year AM!
6 Arcade Fire
Do you guys remember when they won a Grammy for album of the year in 2011? One of the good moments in 2011 for sure since they weren’t a lot of them. This year they are here with such an amazing album. Their album has some kind of old 70s/80s vibe of alt.rock. I like the mix of that and the indie pop goes around it with rock sounds in there. They had made such well-made experimental music and this album was one of them so they have impressed me with their music. And their videos are outstanding.
5 The Neighbourhood
Another new band that has really impressed me with their own style of music. I enjoying mellowing down and just sit back and listen and appreciate their music. Either feeling the touch of the vocals, their slow and tepid sound creating such a wonderful scenery or just liking the way the lyrics and the music are being heard, it’s all wondrous. Their album for the most keeps their sound going to such a direction that it is endless along with other ways to make their sound kinda more fresh and interesting. Sure their music overall is boring, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it either. I actually like it for the way it is. Hearing the people say, remembering and let it go. The vocals stay true whatever different ways of their sound go to. Some good drum beats as well. Great work and music by this new and successful band that can do this again in 2014 and become more noticeable.
4 The 1975
Another new and emerging band in addition to coming from the UK. They obviously enjoy making Black-White videos. They said so in their Girls video, which is not B-W and pretty much different from their videos. Still it’s funny to notice that. B-w videos are a trend just ask The Neighbourhood. The 1975 just like to make some exciting music with up-beat sounds mix with a mid-tempo range and the vocals just echoes some good life in an amusing way. Loved their album in which the vocals can fit anywhere the music leads up to from the more catchy tunes to the wondrous sounds of the album. They really do sound like their UK roots. I forgot on how they named their band The 1975. Oh well, cheers for new and emerging UK artists like these.
3 Daft Punk
This French electronic rock duo has impressed with their past works that had some minor kind of success like One More Time, All Around The World, (x136 or x137? I didn‘t count them, someone else did and posted it. Yeah Rock Genius.) and Da Funk. They are so good that Kanye sampled their music for the great Stronger. He’s so ecstatic that he forgot to ask their permission. Oh well. They have come back not only to have a huge unexpected hit with some great help from Pharrell, they also made such amazing album that I am lost for words. I will found them and type for you. In their album, they have bought back some retro sounds like disco and electronic sounds from the 70s and mix it into one album along with some of their usual stuff. A great mix of sounds found on the albums that takes me into the state of mind of Daft Punk or something close to that. A great music experience they have bought me. Great job.
2 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
This duo had an unexpected kind of success that any kind of artists would wish for. The best part is that these guys are on their own independent album and I bet many labels are seething that this relative unknown Seattle act are ranking some major cash that will be put to good use. I feel bad now the pressures is on high for the label acts. Anyway with Ryan’s enjoyable production & Macklemore’a entertaining way of rapping, this duo are unstoppable and 2013 is the proof needed to see. They are just basically hitmakers at the moment with four hit singles in which three of them are major smashes. They have the trending song in Thrift Shop, a deep and inspiring message of Same Love, a party jam for Can’t Hold Us and a Cadillac anthem in the way of White Walls. Don’t get me started on their album, which includes a nice sediment, memorable and thoughtful song of the power that is the shoe brand of Wing$ and the good time song with unique sounds in And We Danced. This duo made 2013 their year. 2014- I just don’t know what will happen.
1 Imagine Dragons
My new favorite band from last year really made music and life meaningful last year and man that resulted in major success that I’m speechless for their new found fame. They truly deserved it. Just thinking about their lyrics, the background and meanings to their songs, and such wondrous music that makes me feel better about myself. Their blend of indie pop and rock with some electro sounds here and there is just amazing. It’s Time was about the lead singer Dan’s time of depression and the way he got out of that, their most successful song Radioactive is just epic with their more electro sound, Demons is the understanding of those bad moments, and On Top of the World really highlights their indie pop sound. Their soundtrack song for a video game Monsters is the fear of becoming ridiculed or becoming at your worst self possible and not really feeling comfortable at all. They have commercially success and their singles and albums are selling hot this year. I really get some inspiration from their music for how I look into my life and understand my position of this world. Plus I enjoyed listening to them on the go with either my iPod or my iPhone. I just go into my wondrous thoughts whatever on the bus, car, library, outside or in my room. I really want to see them live one day and hopefully 2014 is the year I do. Never been to an actual concert before and if they are my first time, then it’s all worth it with me. I want to see them the most. Cheers to this Las Vegas band and my #1 band of the year and even THE artists of the year overall.
That’s it for the band countdown. Looking back in this astounding year, which these bands help make a really enjoyable music experience. Thanks to all the comments I received so far as well as getting you all some feedback on them as well as commenting on your best ofs, which I will comment on some more later in the day. I had a blast so far making these countdowns for all of you and for me to share and appreciate 2013. Phew. Now I’m off to sleep in this early morning part of the day.
Coming up is the Top 100 Music Videos of 2013: Part 1 [100-76 + OD] and until then, comment on this countdown.

The Mowgli's! I love San Francisco, need to listen to the rest of their songs. Fitz and the Tantrums!! Just discovered their music in 2013, they're amazing, ñove their retro-style. CHVRCHES just heard their music for the first time a week ago, not bad.
Atlas Genius, Bastille, Lp I was so obessed with Twenty One Pilots early this year, their album is pretty good, really love the fact they added rap to their songs.
Capital Cities are great, so glad they finally found some success in 2013. I love The Neighbourhood! One of my fave bands right now, Daft Punk! They're legends, their album was awesome, my fave comeback of 2013. Macklemore and Ryan! Really loved them in 2012-2013, The Heist is amazing, there are no fillers.
Good for Imagine Dragons, they're not my fave band, but their music is ok, well deserved
