Is this one of the best tracks on Katy Perry’s ''Prism''? Yes! I just love it's breakdown. It has tribal, Bollywood influence with strong, powerful percussion. Nice job, Katheryn.
40. The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather
You probably wouldn't expect a song called "Sweater Weather" to be such a perfect summer soundtrack, but that's exactly what The Neighbourhood's jam is. The Neighbourhood operate in a post-Lana world where retro is main thing. That central chorus lyric and its catchy melody are key though. Who says cool can’t be charming?
You don't have to be an expert to notice that dance and folk music have dominated the charts over the past two years. "Hey Brother" is proof that Avicii is one brilliant producer and musician. The fact that he included a talented bluegrass artist, Dan Tyminski, was genius on his part, thus showcasing that good music has no boundaries.
38. Depeche Mode - Heaven
The most personal and coincidentally beautiful vocal of Depeche Mode's latest album comes on “Heaven,” the official lead single. It’s a synth-rock slow jam that goes very alt-rock on the chorus, with some ripping vocal harmonies.
37. Demi Lovato - Let It Go
Demi Lovato has managed to maintain a relatively clean image ever since she broke away from Disney years ago. She didn't have to go same way Miley has to prove that she's grown up now. Whether this was her own decision or her management influenced her to it, the results speak for themselves: ''Let It Go'' is another great ballad with beautiful message by this talented girl.
Sweater Weather is an amazing song! My favorite from this set!
tbh I think Avicii is not good as he used to be, but I'm so happy for his sucess.
I'm starting to like that Demi Lovato song
"Story Of My Life" includes some of One Direction's best vocals yet, and it could expand the fan base for the group. This song proves they have a long musical future ahead of them. Cute music video.
35. Dido - No Freedom
Though this one doesn’t really hook you on its listen, it surely takes its time to get to you. Listen to it over and over and you understand the depth of the lyrics, the essence of the song and where it all leads to. The song has a hint of sadness and serenity at the same time, something difficult to project in a single song. It's shame it didn't do better on charts.
As the bhangra music-inspired intro merges into a dirty, fuzzy bassline, it's clear from the off Selena has ditched the pop sheen she has become known for. The production for this track is superb but Selena is a weak vocalist. I think that if some other girl (who actually knows how to sing properly) sang it, this would be in my TOP 10.
33. David Guetta - She Wolf (Falling To Pieces) featuring Sia
This song was my jam during the winter of 2013. Perfect mix of Sia's haunting vocals and crazy dance beat!
32. OneRepublic - Counting Stars
The lyrics are poetic and reflective, making the audience want to join OneRepublic and count stars too. The song is irresistibly upbeat and irrevocably catchy, making you want to play it more and more.
''Die Young'' is the perfect blend of alternative pop and dance pop. Production of the song is flawless. At first "Die Young" sounds deceptively simple. However, there are many musical touches that become even more rewarding after listening to the song multiple times. Music video is a little bit too much, but hey, we're talking about the queen of trash pop!
