But those albums had HITS to sustain sales. Something 'My December' does not have. That's why I predict its going to be a disappointment.

You could've just said that. lol. I think there's some potential hits like How I Feel, Judas, Haunted, and possibly Sober. Not huge hits, they're not really radio friendly enough, but they're great tracks that people can relate to.

hmmm...

'Haunted' is too rocky IMO. Pop radio won't play it.

'Judas' still too dark/rocky and I personally think the hook is weak and repetitious in a bad way.

'How I Feel'--Feels the most pop friendly out the ones you mentioned. But the the hook lacks punch. Doesn't hold my attention.

'Sober' good song but too slow for radio. Radio likes big belting ballads. I don't see it working and so far it hasn't.

I actually think 'CIHAK' and 'One Minute' have the most potential but i think at best they would only match NA's radio peak.

Its not that the songs on 'My December' are BAD. They just don't have that magic and spark and they don't really fit into a pop radio stations playlist. That's why Clive was so upset.

Who needs pop radio? lol. As long as the music is good, I'll listen to it, pop radio or not. And Clive needs to just calm down. lol. The album is getting good reviews, from both critics AND listeners.

Who needs pop radio? A pop star like Kelly does. Plently of albums get positive reviews but don't sell because they aren't played on the radio.

Don't think for a second that 'My December' will just magically sell on its own.

Pink made a great album but it didn't sell until 'U+Ur Hand' finally broke through on radio. Pop stars need radio hits to sell.

I really don't see that much of a difference in My December compared to Breakaway. I really don't get all of this drama for this CD. It's good, but it doesn't stray THAT far from Breakaway. I still think this CD is better than anything that montana ***** will ever come out with.

The meaning of the songs are different on MD than Breakaway. Since Breakaway had a lot of break-up songs, MD only has about 2 of those. But i agree, its not that different.

Can we please stop comparing Kelly to Avril. They are both good artists who I'm sure have plenty of respect for each other.
Personally, I dont think it matters how well this album sells. It is an awesome album and we all know that crap sells these days so I wouldnt be surprised if it doesn't have the same success as Breakaway. What I do know though is that it will NOT flop. Its almost impossible for something with the name Kelly Clarkson on it, to really and truly flop. I predict probably MD going triple platinum.
