Rappers talk about killing prostitutes and hoes And selling crack, killing other people, etc.
And photoshop on magazine covers and in music videos It's not about saying "You want my hawt bawdy? (you betta work bitch )" as much as subliminal messaging and messaging by reinforcement, which has already been proven to lead to stress and eating disorders in easily influenced young women and young men.
Idk. I just don't take music that seriously, i guess. but I guess I can see now how it can be pretty offensive for people who are either not that secure with their sexuality or afraid of the effects of this type of language on peer attitudes.

Yes, but no one is claiming it is okay when they talk about killing prostitutes. That is horrible. Though it should be said that not liking someone based on their profession is much different than not liking them based on who they are and who they had no choice about being.
And there is nothing insecure about being offended. If you are insecure with your sexuality you will not defend gay people because then you will either appear gay or gay-sympathizing. Only people who are secure in their sexuality will raise their voice.

Honestly, people who get bothered over this need something more important to think about.

Perhaps, thinking about how there is a song on the radios that endorses violence against gays is unimportant but then again, the people who aren't bothered also need something more important to think about. They should read a textbook on the history of homosexual persecution.
