Yeah, but then why are the sales of the combined version being counted towards part 1 and not part 2?

Part 2 is longer and has more tracks.

The EP thing with Gaga, Kesha, Lana etc is a bit different because they're EPs with only 7-8 songs and are much shorter than the original albums, so combining the sales isn't that big of a deal. Essentially longer re-releases.
